Madaba Mosaic Map - In Madaba, the St George’s Greek Orthodox Church features a renowned mosaic on its floor. Created in the 6th century AD, this mosaic illustrates the pilgrimage routes from surrounding regions to the Holy Land, even depicting Egypt.
Mount Nebo - Mount Nebo hosts a Memorial for Musa (Moses) and a 4th-century church, excavated and restored by Italian Franciscan priests in 1933. The panoramic view from here spans the Jordan River Valley, the Dead Sea, Jericho, and Jerusalem. According to the Bible, Moses never reaches the Promised Land but views it from a distance before his death. From Mount Nebo, one can see it on a clear day. It is also believed to be Moses’ burial site.
Dana - The Dana nature reserve, managed by the Royal Society for the Conservation of Nature (RSCN), is located 50 km south of Karak. Situated on the upper way of Wadi-Araba (Araba valley) near Finan, the reserve offers breathtaking views of the valley.
Shobak Castle - Built by the Crusaders and expanded by the Mamluks, Shobak Castle is perched on a rocky, conical mountain on the eastern side of the Arabah Valley, overlooking fruit orchards below. The ruins are near the modern town of Shoubak in Jordan.
Little Petra - Also known as Siq al-Barid, Little Petra is an archaeological site located on the local road that leaves Wadi Musa and skirts the mountains around Petra, passing through the small Bedouin village of Umm Sayhoun. It is about 8 kilometers (5.0 mi) north of Petra/Wadi Musa.
Full Day Petra & Transfer to Wadi Rum
Petra - To make the most of your visit to Jordan’s most popular site, you can choose between the back trail from Little Petra to the Monastery, the castle of the queen, colonnaded street, great temple, royal tombs, the theater, the Treasury, and return to the visitors center through the Siq, or start from the visitors center to the Monastery. Alternatively, you can visit the most popular monuments of Petra in just 3 hours.
Visiting Petra via the Back Door Route offers several advantages:
- Avoid the crowds by taking the less popular back door route to the Monastery.
- No need to walk the same path back and forth.
- Skip the 800 steps up to the Monastery from the main entrance.
- Enjoy wide scenic views along the way.
- Have the Monastery almost to yourself if you arrive early, before visitors from the front entrance.
Wadi Rum & Dead Sea - Amman
Wadi Rum Protected Area - Also known as the Valley of the Moon, Wadi Rum is a valley carved into sandstone and granite rock in southern Jordan. It is a UNESCO World Heritage Site due to its stunning natural beauty and cultural significance, featuring towering mountains, golden sand valleys, and ancient petroglyphs and inscriptions.
Dead Sea Region - The name “Dead Sea” is derived from the Arabic name, which in turn comes from earlier Greek and Latin names, referring to the lake’s extreme salinity that prevents aquatic life. Historical names include the Salt Sea, Lake of Sodom from the biblical story of its destruction, and Lake Asphaltites from Greek and Latin. Visiting the Dead Sea is included, but hotel entry fees apply, which cover a meal and beach access.
