Laugh a minute 😆 - Jose was a brilliant driver, full of knowledge and a wicked sense of humour. Debbie and Shelly from Midlands were good sports as well. We would recommend this trip for everyone.

A great way to see harder to reach areas of the island - We booked onto this tour having been on the Porto Moniz - Enchanted Terraces north east tour two days before and enjoying it so much! As it's such a great way to see hard to reach parts of the island, we booked onto this one covering the eastern side of the island. Our guide Jose was very knowledgeable about the flora and fauna and plants, and we spent a good chunk of time standing in the open top Jeep going through the forest where you can smell the eucalyptus plants and incredibly fresh air. One of the highlights was standing in the open top Jeep and going up and down the valleys on some of the smoother roads, with fantastic views down to the coast and up to the highest peaks. The views from the highest peak when we got there, Pico do Arieiro, were incredible. We were lucky with the weather in that it was really clear (it had rained a lot in the days up to this, but had been told we were there during unusually bad weather). It was however very windy and cold so pack a coat or jacket for this bit! We opted out of the 18 euro lunch offer (having not been overly keen on it during the other tour, partly due to the vegetarian options) and Jose recommended another restaurant for us to go to in Santana which was great. Jose also threw in a few surprise stops along the way which I won't spoil on here!!

Madeira Peaks Safari - We had an excellent day, with beautiful, contrasting scenery. The views from the summit of Pico do Arieiro were superb. Lino, our driver, was great; so personable and offering such interesting insights into the history of Madeira. Lino’s a first class, professional driver so we felt relaxed and safe at all times. We highly recommend Green Devil Jeep Safaris.

Unmissable road trip experience! - Nelson was a exceptional guide. He has a vast knowledge of the island’s history, plant life and landmarks and had many interesting and humorous facts to share. The tour took us on an exciting route with numerous stops around the island. We learned so much; more than we have on any other trip we have been on in Madeira. To top it off, he even took us for a beautiful traditional lunch. 100% would recommend!

Long day , little real information about island. - This tour covered quite a number of viewpoints in the island, with adequate time to see them when we did stop. The off road parts were mostly rutted tracks through forests, or steep extremely narrow roads through villages. Just made for a very bumpy rather uncomfortable ride. The driver ( Miguel) did a lot of rather unnecessary swinging of the vehicle from side to side even on the highway which amused him far more than his passengers, and on a couple of occasions we had near misses due to his driving. The vehicle had no reversing sensors, and no windscreen wash! He was responsive to questions about Madeira but most of his chat was about himself. The lunch stop food was plentiful but very average. All in all I would not recommend this day trip with this particular guide.
