Wonderful day out - We did the island hopping tour with two young kids (5 and 8). This was a great lux option to experience nearby islands , do snorkelling and relax on a light beach picnic. Crew took heaps of photos of us and it was great to not have to be in a mass group setting. This is a perfect option for families with young kids or first time travellers to Thailand to get a flavour of Thailand.

Really great experience with a really great company! - We felt so taken care of on this tour. They had waterproof pouches at the check in point for purchase, which I was so grateful for! I was able to take a lot more memorable pictures than I anticipated. Our boat drivers were skilled and friendly and made sure we remembered to take full advantage of all of our snacks! I even discovered they had taken a few pictures for us when I decided to leave my phone on the boat to swim - so thoughtful and much appreciated. They let us enjoy each spot until we were content, and the whole day was just so wonderful. We had beautiful weather and the islands and secluded spots that they brought us were perfect. Highly recommend!

Excellent half day excursion - Very pleased with our experience. Service was outstanding. Snorkeling was great, feeding fish the watermelon. Maybe best part was beach picnic. Very relaxing.

Amazing experience! 2nd time in a row - It was our second time taking the tour with VIP speed boat, year after year. Family with teens. We really loved the experience on both times! The first time was a trip to pigs island and snorkeling. The second time was a custom tour that included a pink dolphin watching, picnic on a beautiful island and of course snorkeling. We also got to see monkeys and the crew made sure we see them close by so they stopped the engines and throw them some fruits so they get close to the shore. It was super cool. The crew on both times was amazing and made sure we had the best time. They took pictures of us, brought us fruits and cold drinks in to the water on the floating circles, offered snacks and water. We will be definitely coming back next time we are in Thailand! I certainly recommend this to everyone!

Fantastic - can’t recommend enough :) - We couldn’t fault this tour! It was amazing! I can’t recommend it enough! Worth every penny. It was all fantastic, hotel pick up, our family had the speed boat to ourselves, we were offered drinks and crisps when we got on the boat. ( even a beer ha ha ) whilst listening to music. The skipper and his assistant were so friendly and made us feel so welcome. They couldn’t do enough for us 😊 We stopped by an island and were able to jump off the boat, swimming about, we were offered fruit & drinks in these floating rings, so cool. The view was truly amazing, no other tourists, priceless! Second stop was snorkelling over a reef, we were lucky the water was so clear, we feed the fish sone left over watermelon, hundreds of fish come around us, surreal! The skipper took us around the reef, pointing out a string ray, puffer fish and showing other sea life. 20 minutes stop to say hello to the Piggy, then next to the boat, they set up a beautiful picnic on the beach, cheese platter, fresh fruit! So perfect. Thank you for a truly amazing tour, the team when above and beyond what I expected. Our best tour whilst away. 100%

The perfect boat trip - Punctual pick-up and pleasant transfer to the departure point of the private boat. Great price compared to other providers. Nice welcome, perfect spots for snorkeling and swimming. Great crew. Soft drinks, beer and snacks. Then the perfect end with a picnic on Pig Island. Recommended.

Great experience well worth the money - Our family of four (2 kids aged 9 and 12) really enjoyed this experience. We were picked up in a comfortable van and driven to the dock on the south of the island. The boat was roomy and comfortable. Snacks and drinks were as advertised. The 2 employees on the boat were great. Because it’s a private tour we were able to adjust our plans; staying a bit longer at the snorkeling spot and reducing the time on pig island. We ended the day with some fine beach games and a beautiful sunset. Yes - this tour is more expensive than the group tours but if you like being able to do things at your own pace this is perfect.

Highlight of our trip on Koh Samui - My family and I had a wonderful experience with Captain Neung and his First Mate. They were absolutely friendly and amazing hosts. The van picked us up from our hotel very timely. The drive was about 30 minutes from where we were staying which was expected as the island is big and we were far from the pier. VIP Speed Boat staff were super friendly and greeted us immediately upon arrival. We signed waivers, used the restroom before we left, and then they showed us the speedboat. I read reviews from others complaining about the speedboat appearance but it’s total BS. The speedboat is perfect; you can tell it definitely is loved and used. Onboard, we were offered drinks and snacks immediately. We loved the reggae music choice selected by the crew. I even downloaded some of the cover songs after the ride (I.e. a reggae cover of Hotel California)! Stops included a view of Wat Laem from the ocean which is golden in the sun. Then we stopped at a cove and got beers and fruits on the cutest floaters ever! We did some swimming and seashell hunting on the shore. The water is very shallow too so very safe and perfect for children! Afterwards we stopped for snorkeling and even got to feed fishes with pieces of watermelon. We all agreed those were some of the best snorkeling gear we’ve had to date! My only warning is to watch out for the huge sea urchins that like to hang out on the rocks underwater too. Then it was off to Pig Island for a visit and picnic. Our boat was anchored further from the others which I really liked. My husband grew up on a farm so he loves animals and enjoyed the experience. I’m not big on animals cause I have allergies to their dandruff but yes, tourists, it will smell like animals live there so don’t expect jasmine fragrance on a ‘pig farm’. There are also others there as the island is a tourist attraction. Afterwards, we washed our hands in the bathroom and made our way to an adorable picnic spread the crew had set up. My only qualm were the tiny ants that wanted to enjoy the picnic too but they don’t bite. Just annoying. The food was great! It’s a wonderful light selection of fruits, cheese, olives and pickles, chips and beer. Again, I don’t know what others are expecting but that’s perfect for the heat and exercising we were getting. I wouldn’t want any meal heavier than that. We were stuffed full from all the munching. After an hour, the sun was setting and we went back. Even got some sunset pictures on the boat! I’d like to mention even the van drive back was pleasant. The driver was so attentive and kind. He turned off the lights in the van so we could sleep cause we were exhausted. As he approached our hotel, he simply switched the lights back on to gently wake us up. It was so kind. Thank you for everything to the entire crew! What a memorable experience for my brother, and his wife (first timers in Thailand) and my husband and I. It was definitely the highlight of our time on Koh Sumai. For the price we paid in USD to get a whole boat to ourselves and the wonderful service we received this experience is well worth the money!

Wonderful private experience - Snorkeling & Floating fruits were great! The pig island is also beautiful and the pigs are very friendly. The picnic on the pig island and the sunset were beautiful.

Overpriced for what you get. - I feel we went on a different tour reading the previous reviews. Our family of four (kids 12 and 14) love to book tours everywhere we go all the time, but this one was the worst we ever had. This tour is not a VIP tour, not worth the overpriced money! We spent 45 minutes on a minivan to get to the boat. Had a very quick briefing about safety, hopped on a boat which looked much older and worn out than the picture. The captain and his assistent appeared to be friendly and helpful, but hardly spoke English. They took us to an island to swim, jump of the boat and served us watermelon, pineapple and a beer on a floating tube, but with the backdrop of an island filled with garbage made the moment not pretty or nice at all unfortunately. In the meantime our guides were smoking weed on the boat, which was bizar to me to see! Next stop was snorkelling; we went to a place where all other boats were as well. They gave us their equipment and threw in watermelon and chips to attract the fish, but besides that you couldn’t see a thing. Last stop was pig island. We walked around, saw the pigs while 1 guide set up a picknick spot with drinks and some snacks (again smoking weed, while we were sitting there next to him). The spot was ok, again a lot of garbage on the island, but we liked the cold drinks and playing beach ball (that’s the ‘games’ they refer to). All together we think this tour is overpriced for what you get and not worth the money.
