Additional Information

This journey was absolutely astonishing. Even though the commute to the desert and back may be exhausting, we relished the various halts we had during the travel. Our chauffeur, Simo, was exceedingly hospitable, pausing whenever anyone in the vehicle needed a respite and always with a cheerful demeanor. It’s important to point out: your trek to the desert will involve frequent stops. There’s plenty of chances to visit communities, behold landmarks, and simply get some air. In the midst of all this, you’ll also experience a camel ride that lets you witness both sunrise and sunset amidst the oasis.

Amazing experience - Amazing experience ! Desert was incredible & a moment in a lifetime. Our driver was also very kind and cool, which maked the ride from Fez really enjoyable. All the stops on the road (monkeys, oasis, scarfs…) were also super nice. And the night in the desert was also confortable and dinner nice. To sum up : a must to do at least once in your life :)

Recommend Yunus the driver. - Yunus the driver is the main reason why we are giving 5 stars. He was helpful and went above and beyond by making sure we were all fine at all time. However, the service was not the greatest. My partner and I went for the full option which included 2 breakfasts and one dinner, along with a bottle of water each. We only received 1 breakfast and had to pay for water separate which cost us 20MAD (£1.80). People at the camp constantly tried getting more money from us by pushing services which we declined multiple times. Yunus and people in our camp made the overall experience really good.

Super recommended - I loved everything: the camp, the camel excursion, the tents are fantastic, with bathroom inside. And the party around the fire was so much fun. Another detail is the loan of djellabas, great for cold nights in the desert.

Short but sweet desert tour - This was a whirlwind trip but exactly what we were looking for since we were a bit time limited. Our driver Hamid was excellent and the stops on the way down were well-timed; we weren't pushed into buying things thankfully, which can often be the case on some tour stops in Morocco. When we arrived in Merzouga/Erg Chebbi, we took a camel ride to the camp. The only downside is that the camp is not as isolated as one might hope for; we could see both the road and other camps from where we were located. The camp itself was nice and had everything we needed (including an ensuite bathroom in the tent). We enjoyed the meal and the drumming after sundown. The camp was very prompt at pushing us out the next morning (7:30am departure time) which was a bit annoying but it was nice to make it back to Fes by late afternoon. Overall a tiring but awesome experience!

Scammers - The tour itself was fine but here my experience. I did the tour from fez to Marrakech and before booking a room in Marrakech I specifically asked them if they would have dropped me off at my hostel in there and they said sure. But only at the end of the tour they told me they were gonna drop me off at ONE HOUR on foot from my place (trying to convince me it was only 10 minutes despite I checked it with the gps) because cars are not allowed in the medina after a certain time and that it was my fault for not having specified where my place was , but how would I have known that? Not only it was my first time in Morocco but also I was a solo female traveler and literally everyone tells you not to walk alone in the medina at nighttime, especially with a lot of luggages with you. Also as I said I booked the tour before booking the room so if they were honest and clear about this situation since the beginning I could have organized myself in a different way. I was obliged to book in a different place loosing the money of the first reservation and obviously when I arrived in Marrakech the medina was full of cars, so I guess it was a lie (since we were travelling with a mini van I also asked them if it was possible to get a taxi with a regular car but they said no). Other than that, we had no Wi-Fi and no plugs to charge the phone on the way to Marrakech. Last but not least they stop for eating in ridiculously overpriced places (the wanted to charge me 8€ for an omelette with nothing, just the eggs) but if you walk usually less then 2 minutes you find better places with Moroccan prices (better doesn’t mean good, quality is always poor so don’t expect a restaurant but at least you eat with 3 euros instead of 10). From Fez to desert everything was fine and the tour guy super nice, with Wi-Fi plugs and decent lunch
