Highlights
  • Imhotep Alabaster Luxor - Looking for the perfect gift or memento to remember your trip to Luxor? Look no further than a personalized shopping tour! You’ll spend the day with a private guide visiting several great places where you can find high-quality souvenirs and see the various stages of local crafts production. Here are just a few of the highlights:

Alabaster: If you’re looking for authentic souvenirs, the alabaster factory is the perfect place to start. Watch as skilled craftsmen use the same tools as their ancient ancestors to create beautiful vases, lamps, sculptures, and more. Not only is alabaster a great souvenir, but it’s also a good investment since its value increases over time.

  • Lotus Papyrus - Papyrus: Luxor is home to many papyrus institutes, and you’ll visit a workshop to see how this ancient material was made. Observe the process and the tools the artisans use to create hand-painted papyrus scrolls with images from ancient tombs and temples.

  • Luxor Market - Perfumes: Stimulate your senses at an oriental perfumery, where extracts of a wide variety of oriental flowers are used to make exquisite, pure oil perfumes. Choose from blended perfumes or pure flower essences like gardenia and jasmine, or go for something exclusive to Egypt, like papyrus and lotus flowers. You can also find a wide range of medicinal oil blends for aromatherapy.

  • Luxor Market - Gold & Silver: Egypt has always been famous for its gold and silver. Customize your own jewelry, like a gold or silver cartouche or ring with your name engraved in ancient hieroglyphs. Or choose from other jewelry items with ancient symbols, like the Key of Life (Ankh), Eye of Horus, or scarab.

  • Luxor Market - Carpets: For a colorful and luxurious souvenir, visit a local shop with handmade carpets. Find Bedouin and Nubian kilims, carpets, and rugs with various designs and made of different fabrics like wool and silk.

  • Luxor Market - Spices & herbs: In the Egyptian desert and along the Nile, many different herbs and spices can be found. Don’t miss the opportunity to buy hibiscus, fenugreek, caraway, anise, and more for your own herbal tea collection. And for the foodies, find spices like coriander, cumin, saffron, ginger, cinnamon, and even more exotic items like doum, tamarind, carob, and sahlab.

After your shopping tour, you’ll be taken back to your hotel in Luxor with all your new treasures in tow.

Not for Westerners unless it is your first day in Egypt. - The tour was ok. We already went to the papyrus, alabaster and perfume places when we went on other tours so we booked this to go to the markets and wander around without the hassle of being harassed but we were still harassed because they saw white people coming and didn’t listed to the guide. We got stuck in every shop we went into and felt pressured to buy. Honestly we only lasted 1.5 hours wanted to go back to the hotel. The guide and driver were nice but didn’t understand that Westerners don’t buy Egyptian tablecloths or traditional clothes because we don’t use them at home. We want tourist bits and pieces. We wanted t-shirts for women but Egypt only has them cut for men because they don’t recognise the shape of a woman’s body: think 1980s t-shirt fashion.
