Sites to not be missed - Initially, I had booked this tour to visit a few sites that I had wanted to visit but missed on another tour, (the Ramussem and tomb of the nobles). I wasn't too sure about this one at first because I had taken a tour earlier which included Habu Temple fairly recently. However, I was pleasantly surprised by the tour. The guide, Hesham had a very good understanding of the temple, and was able to explain large parts of the temple which I later found I had questions on, and many details I missed earlier. He was also great at pointing out many of the details and explaining the history of both the Ramesseum and the temple of the nobles as well. (It should be noted that guides were not allowed in the tombs for the valley of the nobles, but Hesham took the time to describe what I would see and what that would mean).

Add to buckle list - What an experience… please make time and check out Ramesseum, Habu temple and the valley of the nobles. Habu temple is a one of a kind location to check out. It shows more details about Ramesses in his daily life. Also you can see how the temple was hellenized and appropriated for the Byzantines. The Valley of the Nobles tombs sell themselves with their well preserved wall paintings of their daily lives in the past.

Ramesseum, Habu Temple and Valley of the Noble - Our tour guide Mahmoud and driver Chesley were wonderful. Mahmoud was through in explaining each site. We accessed the West Bank of the Nile River, by crossing the recent bridge built in 1992 to get to the Valley of the Nobles. There we saw the Colossi of Menon for which we were told the nile River use to reach the entrance. The two statues were colossal and were bigger than human life could conceive, similar to how the Kings perceived themselves at that time. As we continued our journey we reached the tomb of Nakht and Menna. who lived during the 18th Dynasty. As a noble person, Mean was responsible for surveying the fields and recording the inventory of the harvest. Mahmoud was detailed in his explanation making sure that we had an understanding of what we were seeing. But was was more amazing was the art work and literature that was on the wall as a result of the drawings and documentation of the ancient Egyptians. No story book can describe it to you, you must come and witness it for yourself. As you stand in the Valley of the Nobles, which is dry and desert land and look our towards the nile you see the lushness of the land before you. Where the Nile becomes the source for which the farmland can be cultivated. This tour is amazing and it would require so much more space to capture all that we saw and felt, but need less to say Habu Temple and Rameseeum Temple were just as amazing and our tour guide Mahmoud was top-notch!!! Just be prepared if you travel in the Summer, the weather is HOT!!!

Valley of the Nobles shouldn't be missed - Prior to leaving on a Nile cruise my friends and I had a free afternoon and took this tour to the Valley of the Nobles and Workers and Habu Temple. The guide was excellent and provided very detailed information on all the sites. The nobles tombs were just amazing with all of the colorful painted walls and ceilings. In the tombs were the guides aren't permitted to enter the tomb guardians are more than happy to let you take photos for a little baksheesh ($2 each was plenty). I'd highly recommend this tour.
