Fully customizable day at Luxor - Mo is a very knowledgeable tour guide (PhD Egyptologist) and takes great photos. He even let me use his phone when my phone's battery died, which I appreciated. I would not have been able to see as much on my tight schedule without booking the tour. Our driver was great. My balloon ride was cancelled within 24 hours due to strong wind - if this happens the ride is only $40 so instead of asking for refund would recommend asking to substitute other experiences such as Valley of Queens/Medinet Habu. For VoQ be sure to add on Queen Nefertari tomb if budget allows ($60) as its value is priceless with its stunning colors. King Tut tomb add-on also worth it. I wish we had skipped the tout shops (would advise skipping perfume shop) and regret not spending that time at Hatshepsut. I agreed to just looking at Hatshepsut temple exterior but it is difficult to see any detail from the outside because the security barriers prevent you from coming close. The felucca ride is also weather dependent - my sailboat experienced no wind and was at standstill. Nonetheless, it was a nice way to end the evening as the captain let the sail down for a nice sunset photo op while I dipped toes in the Nile. The workaround was a motorboat that tugged us back to shore. The tour allows full customization by charging an additional $25/site -- for example, Ramesseum, Carter House, Temple of Seti I, Valley of Nobles. The add-ons added up and felt a little pricey since many of these sites are within minutes of each other and admission fees are not included. Lunch charge of $25 also pricey given local lunch prices (200-300 Egyptian pounds) although the food at Paris restaurant was delicious and served in tagines. Overall, I would choose to do the tour again because I appreciated the deep knowledge of Dr Mo as a university teacher; I liked the nuances he was able to share about each site. I was also extremely short on time (in Luxor for 1.5 days) so the tour's a la carte nature met my needs. Things that could be improved would be the tour agency shifting from business mindset to aiming to provide the best value for consumer. Dr Mo checked in with me several times during the trip to make sure I was having a good time and made adjustments; I believe he is responsive to feedback and strives to improve, which I appreciate.

Nice way to see Luxor when you have only a day - Really enjoyed a jam packed day that felt well-paced and hit the biggest sights. Went with Hany Soliman who helped identify the most interesting experiences which was critical for making sure time was well spent.

UNFORGETTABLE LUXOR EXPERIENCE - Dr. Mo organized the tour. My tour guide was Hani Yassin and Ibrahim was the driver. Dr. Mo was attentive to my questions and concerns. Hani was very informative all throughout the tour. It was a long day, but it was definitely worth it. Highly recommended to go with his group. A few tips: 1. Book the earliest schedule for the balloon ride. Pictures are best taken at sunrise, and it will give you lots of time for the rest of the day. 2. Hani will recommend the best tombs to visit. Take pictures and don’t spend so much time. For a bit extra, visit King Tut’s tomb. You can see his mummy and take pics. You cannot do this with the mummies at the Museum of Egyptian Civilization. 3. Karnak is the highlight of the trip. The temple complex is just awesome and indescribable. Spend more of your time here. 4. Make sure you reach Luxor while there is still daylight. Then wait until the sun sets and the lighting is just magical. Highly recommended. You won’t regret it.

Luxor in a day - This tour actually started when Dr Mo contacted me thru whatsapp the night I booked my tour. It shows his dedication in taking care of his clients. The night before the tour, he again contacted me to inform him our room number for them to call us once they are in the hotel. The hot air baloon was amazing, the captain was friendly and did the 'Egyptian Landing' , next stop is with Dr Mo - this guy has a good sense of humor and he knows is craft. You can see the he is passionate not only in his work but he wants to see Egypt as a whole succeed. I asked alot about the history and even mentioned that maybe this was built by giants. lol. Another good thing with Dr Mo is his photography skills. Good Job Dr Mo and hope that you will have more clients in the future.

Glorious Sunrise Ballon Ride - Beautiful sunrise balloon ride. We experienced the inflating of the balloon and then the 45 minute ride and then the deflating of the balloon and disembarking the basket. The view was beyond spectacular with both high an low altitudes. The crew was fun with singing and drums as we took flight. The initial communication was delayed which caused a 1 hour wait. The car was NOT luxury as mentioned in the advertisement.

not our favorite tour company - We did a lot of different day tours with different companies during our time in Egypt and this was probably our least favorite for a number of specific reasons. First, the pickup was about 45 minutes late, and we missed the sunrise for the hot air balloon ride, we were waiting and wandering back and forth from our hotel room to the lobby to see if we could find our ride, and I was not able to reach anyone to help guide me. Later we were picked up by a guide who did a nice job but did seemed rushed and tried to get us to skip one of the temples, as well as to move the boat ride to lunch time to shorten the day. Also we were forced to eat lunch from a restaurant that we didn't pick and it was very expensive and not the best. Given how much we paid for the tour, I didn't like the feeling that we were being an inconvenience when asking to see the temples that were slated as part of the tour. We wouldn't recommend this tour as there are others that are probably better value and have better customer service/care.

Get someone other than Mo as your guide - The balloon ride was incredible! The places we visited were awe inspiring. Our drivers were wonderful and polite. Mo was knowledgeable when he wasn’t walking way ahead of us while he was texting or talking on his phone. He let us know how great he was in all ways. If you want any protection from him when being accosted by vendors don’t count on him. He told me if we didn’t buy from them they would go hungry essentially. So guilting us into buying basically not good quality stuff. He was too busy on his phone to make sure we were safe and not being “too” bothered. Don’t get me wrong I gave a lot of money to kids, moms and others. Fed the street dogs my left over food. Poverty is very prevalent there. Please don’t try to guilt me into buying stuff. If we had a question about something while walking Mo was to far ahead of us to ask. We got a boat ride over to the East bank from a driver we had the day before, we were suppose to have him take us back. When we got to the boat we said “that’s not the same driver, we told the other driver we would tip him when we saw him that night”. Mo said “don’t worry that is his brother you can give it to him.” We did just that, only to find out that was not true, so the boat driver and Mo were dishonest. Not cool! I don’t trust dishonest people.

Go through your hotel for tours. At least their guides will be honest. - We booked this tour a couple months in advance electing for the 430am sunrise balloon ride. It was changed last minute to 615am this missing the sunrise. Our drivers were very nice. Our first boat operator was fantastic. Our tour guide-Mo- was knowledgeable on the sites. And that is where the customer service stopped. He spent most of his time on his phone. He also made sure to use our phones for pictures including himself in some of them. When walking to and from the sites, he would walk way in front of us, leaving us to deal with the “in your face” solicitors. When he did notice if we were being hassled, his only assistance was telling us to use our stern voice. When he was talking to us, he was very arrogant and clearly in love with himself. We also had a 2nd half day tour with him. We had to catch a boat from the west bank to the east bank. We were told that we would have the same boat operator for the day. We opted to wait until the end of the day to tip. However, our return boat ride was with a different operator. When we expressed the fact that we didn’t tip the first operator, we were told to give the new operator the money for him because “they were brothers”. So we did. The next day, we ran in to the first operator only to find out that he does not have a brother. Thanks for lying to us. My advice for future travels-go through your hotel. They can set you up with honest guides as this one clearly was not. Very disappointing. (And I am posting this on the correct tour)

Guide made us feel like walking ATMs - We booked this tour last minute for 3 people, and were not able to enjoy the balloon ride as there was "no availability" which we thought was understandable given our late booking. A credit card refund was given to us for the cost of the balloon ride, which was very much appreciated. The sightseeing was incredible, and our driver was friendly and fun. However, we felt that our tour guide was only interested in extracting as much money from us as possible. It really cast a dark shadow on our day. Our tour guide spent a lot of the day pestering us to visit "much better locations" than what is included with the tour (he told us it would be $20 USD per person, per "extra location"). We had to ask him firmly to stop. We also felt that the lunch was a huge ripoff, as we were taken to a restaurant which obviously had a kick back scheme running with the tour guides. We were served far more food than we wanted or asked for (one of us is a vegetarian and only ate rice), then got stuck with a ridiculously expensive cheque ($50 USD) with most of the food going uneaten, which is completely unacceptable. We were also taken to a typical tourist trap shop where we were pressured to purchase pottery and stonework, which is clearly another kickback scheme with the tour guides. It took up time that we could have been enjoying the many historic wonders Luxor had to offer. We were not impressed. Since none of the tickets to the various historic sites were included in the price of this tour, we were puzzled as to what we had paid for in the initial price paid for this tour, and ended the day feeling deeply taken advantage of. Finishing the day feeling like a walking ATM is not a nice feeling to have after what should have been a fun and exciting day exploring Luxor. The best part of our day was when the tour guide left us and we got to enjoy the one hour boat ride with the two friendly young guys operating the vessel. I would not recommend this tour to anyone that wants to enjoy their day in Luxor. We would have had a much more enjoyable, positive, and cheaper experience if we had just hired someone to drive us around to the different sites.
