- Temple of Karnak - At approximately 5:00 a.m., your tour guide will pick you up in a comfortable, air-conditioned minibus. A knowledgeable German-speaking Egyptologist will join the group. The journey to Luxor takes about 4 hours, passing through the Nile valley with views of fields and farmers’ homes. This excursion is conducted in a small group, with a maximum of 8 participants. Your guide will be available throughout the trip to answer any questions. Upon arrival in Luxor, our first stop will be the Karnak Temple, the largest temple complex in Egypt, located on the eastern bank of the Nile. One of the most significant areas of the temple is the large columned hall. The complex is divided into three walled sections: the Amun area (ancient Egyptian Ipet-sut, “place of election”), the Month area, and the Courage area. The oldest visible remains of the temple date back to the 12th dynasty under Sesostris. The temple complex was expanded and rebuilt multiple times until the Roman Empire. Notable among the ruins are the temples of Amun-Re with its ten pylons. You will also see the sacred lake, measuring 120 × 77 meters, located south of the central temple building and fed by groundwater. Admire the large columned hall, statues, pylons, and obelisks.
- Valley of the Kings - After lunch, we will drive to the Valley of the Kings, situated about 5 kilometers northwest of Luxor. In ancient Egypt, the Valley of the Kings was known as the “Sechet-aat large field.” The valley contains over 70 tombs carved into the rock, primarily the tombs of rulers from the New Kingdom (circa 1550 to 1069 BC) of the 18th to 20th dynasties. To protect the mummies, they were relocated in the 22nd dynasty and hidden in other tombs. In 1922, the largely intact tomb of Tutankhamun was discovered. Systematic exploration and excavation of the tombs began with Napoleon’s expedition to Egypt. The Valley of the Kings is a major tourist attraction in Egypt. Only a portion of the tombs is open to visitors, as some are closed for conservation. Since December 2009, photography and filming have been prohibited, but since 2018, photography without flash is allowed with the purchase of a photo permit for around 15 euros.
- Colossi of Memnon - After visiting the Karnak temple complex, we will proceed to the famous Colossi of Memnon. Known in Arabic as “el-Colossat or es-Salomat,” these two adjacent statues date back to the 14th century and depict King Amenophis III seated on a throne, facing the Nile. The statues stand approximately 18 meters high, including the base.
- Temple of Hatshepsut at Deir el Bahari - Our final stop will be the terrace temple complex of Hatshepsut. Hatshepsut, an ancient Egyptian queen of the 18th dynasty, reigned from 1479 to 1458 BC. Her spouse was Thutmoses II. The name Hatshepsut means “The first of the noble women who embraced Amun.” The entire temple is constructed of limestone and is the best-preserved temple on the west bank in Thebes. At around 4:00 p.m., we will begin our return journey, bringing you back to your hotel with wonderful and memorable experiences.

Perfect Luxor excursion - We took a day trip from Sal Hasheesh to Luxor with Zakharious Tours. We had a very small group of 5 people. The pickup and the ride were very pleasant and our 2 bus driver (they took turns) were super friendly and helpful. In particular, I would like to mention Abdul, who was very kind and entertaining.
High praise but especially our tour guide Nasch! He convinced not only with a super kindness, but also above all with his knowledge of Egyptology and the hieroglyphics. The day was very long for us, but it flew by and we didn't ship perfectly on the Nile, but above all, thanks Nasch, cruised around the tourist crowds.
We thank all 3 from the heart for the great trip.

This was the best trip we ever made! - This was the best trip we ever made!
Our driver Carlos was on time and picked us up reliably. The ride with him was very pleasant – he is extremely friendly and accommodating.
In Luxor we then met our guide Naschaat. What can you say? An incredibly personable man who speaks perfect German, has an impressive knowledge of Egyptian history and has shown us the most beautiful places.
We would book a trip through this team again anytime!

Very nice and exciting day trip to Luxor - The trip with our guide Mustafa was a real experience. Mustafa explained very well and adequately (in German). Since we were only a small group of 3 people, we had enough time at all sights and could always bring in our wishes and ask many questions. The organization and process were perfect, exactly as described. The drivers are very careful and have driven very safely.

Highly recommended! - A recommended tour, perfectly organized with a safe, polite and reliable driver named Mina. This provided us with cold drinks while driving and took enough breaks. He was on time after each visit to drive us to the next sight and has the best local knowledge of Luxor. In Luxor, Osama was already waiting for us, a very experienced guide with fluent German knowledge, who explained many details in the temples and burial chambers that we would have surely overlooked. We were always at the sights before the big tourist flows, Osama also made sure of that with a corresponding planning. His recommendations can be fully followed. Conclusion: it was a busy day, but it is worth it! Zakharius tour is highly recommended.

Excellent private excursion to Luxor! - We had a fantastic trip to Luxor yesterday to see the impressive sights and are completely thrilled.
It was a special experience as we were the only participants and so we were able to enjoy a private tour.
Our guide was extremely pleasant and knew an incredible amount about the fascinating history of the pharaohs. He impressed us deeply with his remarks and brought the ancient sites to life.
Also our driver, who picked us up on time and reliably from our hotel in Hurghada and brought us back again, did a great job. The ride was very pleasant.
Overall, it was a perfectly organized and unforgettable day. We can fully recommend this excursion and especially our guide and driver! Thank you for this wonderful experience!

An unforgettable experience - We had an unforgettable day in the Valley of the Kings with Zakharious Tours. The 2 drivers took turns on the track, only short breaks for the toilet... We arrived early before the crowds arrived on the buses. Ismail, our Egyptologist by training, was fantastic. Explained everything calmly.
Anytime again with this company!

Wonderful day in Luxor - Excursion day 11.04.2025, 4 persons (family)
We really enjoyed the trip to Luxor and gained many great impressions. Ousama (the Egyptologist who accompanied us) has had a wonderful way of explaining to us the truly incredibly impressive temple complexes in Luxor, the Temple of the Dead of Hatshepsut, the Memnon Colossi and the tombs in the Valley of the Kings. He is also constantly responding to our children (8 and 11) and has explained many things very vividly and easily so that we not only saw the existing buildings but also got an idea of what it might have looked like in their heyday. We were able to ask many questions and at the same time did not feel overloaded with information. Ousama was very caring and we always had the impression that he wanted us to feel comfortable. At the individual sights we always had a little "free time" to explore the grounds alone.
Lunch was delicious in a pleasant restaurant and the subsequent Nile cruise brought some variety and refreshment.
The pickup at the hotel was on time and the two drivers were also very nice. There were enough chilled drinks on the bus.
We can definitely recommend Zakharious Tours and would definitely book a tour here again if we visit Egypt again!
