Luxor - In the early morning, our representative will pick you up for an exhilarating air balloon ride. You’ll be transferred to the marina where you can enjoy soft drinks before boarding a motorboat to the west bank. From there, you’ll be taken to the balloon ride’s take-off area, soaring over the world’s largest open-air museum, Luxor. The “Balloon Ride” trip is available daily, but advance confirmation is highly recommended. The ride lasts 45 minutes before you land. Explore Luxor’s East and West Banks on a full-day private tour, allowing you to discover each site at your own pace.
-
Colossi of Memnon - After the balloon ride, your tour guide will meet you at the Colossi of Memnon to begin your full-day Luxor tour. These two massive ancient statues date back to the reign of King Amenhotep III.
-
Valley of the Kings - Next, you’ll be transported to the Necropolis of Thebes, the Valley of the Kings on Luxor’s West Bank. This ancient burial ground is a must-see for visitors. You’ll visit four royal tombs, including those of Ramses, Horemheb, and Merenptah.
-
Tomb of Ramases IX - The Tomb of King Ramesses IX, the third pharaoh of the Twentieth Dynasty of the New Kingdom of Ancient Egypt, is rich in color and detail. His name before becoming king was Amonhirkhopshef. He was the fifth son of Ramesses III and became crown prince after his four elder brothers predeceased him. The tomb features a large sarcophagus and intricate ceiling decorations, although some paintings have deteriorated over time.
-
Tomb of Merenptah - In Egyptian mythology, Ptah is the creator god of Memphis, associated with craftsmen and architects. Tomb 8 in the Valley of the Kings is the burial site of Pharaoh Merneptah, son of Ramesses II and Queen Isis-Nofret. Discovered by Howard Carter in 1903, the tomb features fewer lateral rooms but taller corridors and chambers. Merneptah’s tomb was built on a single axis, with a wider entrance than earlier tombs.
-
Tomb of Ramses III - The tomb of Ramesses III, known as KV 11, is a complex system in the Valley of the Kings. Known since antiquity, its decorations include colorful painted sunken reliefs with traditional ritual texts and scenes of Ramses before the gods. Unique to this tomb are secular scenes, such as foreign tributes and detailed pottery, earning it the nickname “Tomb of the Harpers.”
-
Tomb of King Tutankhamun (Tut) - Visit the most famous tomb in the Valley of the Kings, the tomb of Tutankhamun.
-
Temple of Hatshepsut at Deir el Bahari - After visiting the tombs, you’ll be transported to the Temple of Queen Hatshepsut at Deir el Bahari. She was the only woman to reign over Egypt as Pharaoh and was an ancestor of King Tutankhamun.
-
Temple of Karnak - At Karnak Temple, you’ll visit one of the world’s greatest architectural masterpieces. This complex of temples on Luxor’s East Bank includes the Avenue of Sphinxes, the Hypostyle Hall with its 134 massive columns, the Obelisks of Queen Hatshepsut and Tutomosis I, the Temple of Amon adorned with lotus and papyrus designs, the Granite Scarab of Amenophis III, and the Sacred Lake. Karnak is one of Egypt’s most stunning ancient monuments.
-
