Temple of Hatshepsut at Deir el Bahari - This mortuary temple, dedicated to Queen Hatshepsut, is an architectural masterpiece carved into the cliffs of Deir el-Bahari. The temple’s terraces, colonnades, and reliefs depict the queen’s divine birth and trading expeditions to Punt.

Colossi of Memnon - Two massive stone statues of Pharaoh Amenhotep III guard the entrance to his now-vanished mortuary temple. These towering figures, each standing 18 meters tall, have stood for over 3,400 years.

Edfu, Temple of Horus

Temple of Horus - One of Egypt’s best-preserved temples, Edfu’s Temple of Horus, is dedicated to the falcon-headed god. Its massive pylons, grand courtyard, and inner sanctuaries showcase Ptolemaic-era architecture. The temple’s walls depict the mythical battle between Horus and Seth.

Edfu - The evening offers relaxation on the Dahabiya’s sun deck, with panoramic Nile views as the vessel continues southward.

Temple of Philae - Following breakfast, guests are picked up from the Dahabiya and transported in a private air-conditioned vehicle, accompanied by an expert Egyptologist guide for a comprehensive exploration of Aswan’s key landmarks.

The first site is the Temple of Philae, an iconic monument dedicated to the goddess Isis. Constructed beginning around 690 BC, Philae Temple represents one of the final architectural achievements in the classical Egyptian tradition. The temple remained an active site of worship until at least AD 550, reflecting the enduring legacy of the cult of Isis. The experience begins with a boat transfer that drops visitors near the Kiosk of Nectanebo, the oldest existing structure on the island. The approach to the temple is marked by the first pylon, standing 18 meters high, adorned with significant reliefs depicting Ptolemy XII Neos Dionysos subduing enemies—a powerful representation of ancient Egyptian royal iconography and religious symbolism.

Aswan High Dam - Following the temple visit, the itinerary proceeds to the Aswan High Dam, a modern engineering accomplishment on a monumental scale. Located approximately 13 kilometers south of Aswan, the dam exemplifies Egypt’s 20th-century infrastructural development. It incorporates 18 times the volume of material used in the construction of the Great Pyramid of Khufu. The creation of the dam led to the formation of Lake Nasser, one of the world’s largest man-made lakes. The visit provides a detailed overview of the dam’s historical, environmental, and political significance in reshaping Egypt’s agricultural and energy sectors.
