Kaiserbagh Palace was truly unparalleled globally. The Kaiserbagh Palace Complex was one of the most meticulously planned masterpieces by Wajid-Ali-Shah, the final ruler of Awadh, who was a passionate admirer of all art forms, a trait that was evident in his palace. Unfortunately, Kaiserbagh fell victim to British retaliation following the unsuccessful uprising in 1858, when the British reclaimed Lucknow and exiled Wajid-Ali-Shah to Calcutta. As a result of the challenges faced by the British forces, Kaiserbagh was thoughtlessly destroyed.
Today, regrettably, only a few structures remain, making it difficult to envision its former glory as the world’s most stunning palace complex. During this walking tour, participants will explore the Kaiserbagh Palace Complex, reconstructing the area using old photographs and maps, and enjoy a delightful cup of tea as a special treat.
