The commencement of this self-paced expedition is at the Lucerne boat pier 1, which is located opposite the Lucerne train station. The departure schedule is as follows: 09:12, 10:12, 12:00, 14:12, and 15:12, with the cruise provided by SGV.

When you reach Vitznau by boat, you can conveniently switch to the train heading to Mount Rigi’s summit. Once you’ve taken in the stunning 360-degree panorama from the peak, you can either embark on a roughly 35-minute walk or take the hourly xx:00 train down to Rigi Kaltbad, the location of the spa, which requires no reservations and has no time restrictions.

From Kaltbad, you have the option of taking the cable car at 16:10, 16:40, 17:10, or 17:40 to Weggis, or returning to Vitznau at 15:15, 16:15, or 17:15 to catch the boat back to Lucerne.
