A very special wine tour - We’ve been on a number of wine tours over the years, both in the UK and Europe, but I would put this at the top. This is in no small measure due to our host for the day - Tomasso. His English was excellent, his knowledge extensive and he was quite lovely and charming. He took time to find out about the 6 of us in our group, he was personable and unhurried at all times. When he found out one of us had a birthday that day he discreetly phoned ahead to Tanuta Mareli where at the end of our tour Francesca amazingly produced a lovely surprise cake and candle made by her daughter.
We visited two wineries and experienced 5 different wines at each, gradually transitioning through white/rosé to light reds to medium/heavy reds. All were organically produced. We were treated to the most beautiful food for our lunch at the Tenuta Mareli winery all sourced and produced by Francesca. It was a wonderful day.

Fabulous Wine Tour - Absolutely enjoyable day. Each winery/vineyard was unique with excellent, personable hosts who are authentically passionate about wine. All the tastings were exceptional and we were excited to order some bottles to have back home. Thanks to our wonderful, adorable guide, Raphael, wine maker Francesco and F.lil di Urbani guide Francesca. You all made the day perfect!

The best part of our Italy vacation - 10000/10 experience. Raffaele was beyond knowledge, fun and a great time. The winery’s we visited game the most authentic experience, were historic and gave such a sense of family. We came during train strikes and couldn’t take our train out after the tour and raffaele helped us get on the last bus out of the city and made sure the bus waited for us! He went above and beyond . All wineries were prepared with amazing home cooked light lunches! Would recommend over and over again.

Lucca Wineries to Visit - We enjoyed the small group tour, visiting 2 wineries in the Lucca area. Both were absolutely wonderful vineyards. Marco was a great tour guide, translating when we needed help, and sharing his knowledge of the region. We went to a vineyard I hoped to visit, Tenuta Adamo and a family owned winery, Tenuta Mareli. Wine was wonderful and so with the olive oil!! This tour did not disappoint, and we enjoyed having so,wine navigate the region roads in a very comfortable van. Thank you for an enjoyable tour!!!

Partners in Wine - What a genuine, authentic and informative trip!
My wife and I booked the trip whilst being out in Viareggio for a few days and weren’t sure what to expect. Sadly, our tour guide (Tommaso) told us the trip might not go ahead because we were the only couple booked on it (god knows how). He managed to pull some strings and our original group tour got turned into a private tour just for us!
It was unbelievably easy to get into Lucca from Viareggio (so if you’re not staying in Lucca, don’t let it put you off) and Tommaso was an absolute delight right from the start and had us hooked at Merlot - really passionate about his job and kept all of the information he gave us engaging and interesting. It was like being driven round Lucca by an old friend.
After confirming we were there for the right reisling, we stopped off to smell the rosé at Cantina Biagiotti and were shown around by Francesco, who was also a real pleasure to spend the morning with. He gave us a tour of the vineyard and then the production process in the winery. We then tasted what can only be described as the nicest wine I have ever tasted and, as someone who isn’t much of a wine-nerd, I feel fully converted. The history of Cantina Biagiotti is honestly so beautiful. Big fan.
From here, we headed to the other side of Lucca and met Julia who talked us through our second winery and treated us to lunch, which was all locally sourced and grown - we felt like real locals and Julia made us feel like family while we were there.
If you do any tour while you’re in Tuscany, for the love of god, make it this one!
Tommaso, stay in touch! What a fantastic day out!

Sangiovese for the win - We had a great guide in Marco, he was knowledgeable about the area and the wineries we visited. We also got lucky with our tour companions who were 3 English ladies, one of whom lives in Gibraltar. The first place we visited was terrific - Tenuta Adamo. The rose was really good, vibrant but moderately dry with a hint of fruit. The white was also good but the slightly chilled Sangiovese blend was a strong follow up act and from there we went to more fuller bodied dry Sangiovese wines. All excellent. The second place we visited id rather not remember at all. It was small organic and the wine seemed second rate compared with the first place.
The tour is great but I’m hoping Marco and company switch out winery 2 for something better because then it really have would have been a 5/5 experience.

A lovely day - We all really enjoyed our visits to the two wineries, however, we saw that other tables at Adamo were given snacks and when we asked why we had not, we were told that they were on another tour which we found confusing. Otherwise, it was a lovely day and both wineries are beautiful.
