Poignant, interesting and respectful - This was an excellent tour, led by our friendly and knowledgeable guide Jacek.
We were collected on time from our hotel at 08h30 in a new, clean, Mercedes GLC. The drive time to Majdanek was about 2 hours.
The camp is a poignant and respectful reminder of the atrocities that happened there. Whilst a lesser-known site than some more notorious concentration camps, this on no way detracted from what was a reflective experience.
As you walk from one building to another, each paints a picture of what unfolded here, from where prisoners arrived and were processed, to where they slept, a museum with stories of some of those who were imprisoned there, many never to leave, 43 000 pairs of shoes of the departed, two gas chambers and the crematorium. 80 thousand souls lost their lives here.
We spent about two to two and half hours and could easily have stayed longer, so much was there to see and learn. Jacek let us take as long as we wanted and never hurried us along.
We found the memorial at the site where 18 000 prisoners and inmates from nearby labour camps were executed by gunfire on 3 November 1943 particularly moving. It is beyond comprehension how so many could have died at this spot in a single day.
When we were ready, we set off for the old town of Lublin, about a 10 minute drive away. It was quaint and we enjoyed our lunch there, choosing from a Polish themed menu, as well as seeing the rediscovered Russian Byzantine frescos in the church.
We were back at our hotel in Warsaw by 17h45.
Our thanks again to Jacek for a memorable and interesting tour. We recommend.

Wonderful experience - We had a fantastic guided tour to Lublin with Jacek, and we couldn’t have asked for a better guide. He was incredibly knowledgeable, professional, and at the same time very warm and friendly. Jacek shared the history and stories of Lublin in an engaging and easy-to-understand way, and he was always happy to answer questions. His passion for the city really showed and made the experience even more memorable. We truly enjoyed the tour and would highly recommend Jacek to anyone visiting Lublin.

Last minute plan! - Fortunately they had room, it was a last minute plan as the agency we had hired cancelled us a day earlier but, the friendliness, the transport, the route, the explanation, everything was perfect. It came with lunch included and the place chosen could not be better. 100% recommended. There was no guide who spoke Spanish but this was specified to us from the beginning and anyway communication in English with the guide was always very efficient.

Fantastic trip! - Pawel is an amazing polish driver! So friendly and empathic. We could talk about the country and the culture even before to start the tour. The guide girl (forgot her name) was brilliant too! I really recommend the crew and the tour. Hopefully I’ll be back to Poland again. See you guys… hugs from Brazil.

Lublin and Majdanek Tour - The Lublin and Majdanek tour was an outstanding experience. Maciej, the driver was very professional, always making sure the group was comfortable. Maks, the tour guide was very knowledgeable. Both Maciej and Maks are amazing individuals, I very much enjoyed speaking with them. The first part of the trip was to Majdanek camp. Majdanek was one of the most memorable historical sites that I've visited, the history was fascinating but also very tragic. The Second part of the trip was to Old Town of Lublin. The gothic and renaissance architecture in old town is a sight to see, very beautiful. Chapel of the Holy Trinity was breathtaking, so much history in one location. The 14th century castle was very impressive and well preserved. The entire tour was fantastic, I highly recommend this tour. Thank you to the AB Poland Travel team for such an amazing opportunity.

Majdanek closed - no refund! - We arrived to Majdanek only to find that it was closed. We took some pictures far away from the road and then walked through someone’s dewy field to see a little bit of the back. It was very disappointing as that was the sole reason we booked the tour. Our tour guide called the company and without asking us our opinion, got tickets for us to see a small, old church that neither my mom nor I, as well as the other guest, seemed interested in going to see. We tried to remain positive however because our guide said the company was aware of the situation and would be getting in contact with us about compensation. We spent about 15 minutes seeing this small, unimpressive church which was supposed to replace Majdanek - the highlight of our tour and one of the reasons I even came to Poland. We basically wasted an entire day driving in the car that we could’ve better spent doing things in Warsaw. We then waited days after the tour to hear something from the company, but they never contacted us. I then proceeded to request a partial refund (which I though was more than fair) through Viator which they denied saying they took us to the church instead and that was more money (Majdanek is a free state park and the church cost a few dollars [I also didn’t eat when we went to lunch, so that would’ve made up the difference anyway]). I then called Viator to explain everything and they resubmitted the claim. Once again they denied the request for any amount of refund, but said we could get 30% off another tour with them. Why would I want to go on another tour with this company? Why didn’t they contact us at all to begin with? Why wouldn’t they offer this right way (not three weeks later after fighting for compensation), so that we could use it before we left Poland? How often do they think we’re traveling back to the same city in Poland to even be able to use it in the future? And, if they are offering that, where is the discount code or email with the information? The company still has not directly contacted me to apologize or explain anything. Any information I have received has been through a Viator rep. They clearly don’t care about their customers’ experience. They know that there is an infinitesimal chance that I will ever use that 30% off, so they lose nothing but look like they’re trying. I’ve wasted over $500. I would not recommend this tour company!

Worst experience with AB Poland!! - The worst experience with AB Poland!! After 2 hours driving, the Concentration Camp was CLOSED!!!! The tourist guide waa desesperated, with no idea how to solve the situation. ! I've been in contact with AB Poland previous to the trip and they confirmed an re confirmed the excursion. The guide told us that AB Poland will refund 100%!! That the manager will contact us! Guess what??? Through Viator I only got 25% of refund! AB Poland stated that they never approved the total refund, and that we went to the excursion!!! Of course we went to the excursion, if they had no idea that the Concentration Camp was closed!! I lost my day in a highway!!!!
Last but not least, I had to choose this excursion because they have also cancelled the one to Aushvitz
