10 stars - Tommy took us out and despite the wind and rain he found us some lee where we could throw a fly. Saw about 50 and hooked and landed two. Could not ask for a better guide to spend time with-put us on fish, was super informative about the local fishery and area. Funny, easy going and really enjoyable to be in a small boat with! As guides at home, we really appreciate it when we find such an ethical, responsible and enjoyable guide when we travel. Would give him 10 stars if we could. Would definitely book with him again.

Great captain with great knowledge and fun to fish with - I was able to get in on a super last second trip. Our captain, Cody, was great. Knew his stuff, lots of fun, super encouraging and helpful. I was lucky to hook into two giants (both around 100 lbs.). Lost the first after a 30+ minute fight. The second one was another great fight. Cody was on top of things and helped us land an incredible fish. Highly recommend.

Incredible trip! - Tommy and Austin from Backwater were incredible fly fishing guides! I have been fly fishing for Tarpon for 10 years and this trip was the more action than I have had in all 10 years combined! My son was with me as well who had never Tarpon fished, they walked him through every step of the process and now he forever has Tarpon fever. We will be back again soon because it was the trip of a lifetime!

First time on Tarpon was amazing! - Went out with CPT Tommy and it was a great experience. I’m still new to fly fishing and he took time to give me some pointers on my cast. He had me casting over 40 feet in no time. He knew right where the fish were and had my first tarpon of my life within 10 casts of starting the day. He ran a push pole too which was a lot more work for him but got us on a lot more fish! He is dedicated! Highly recommend. I will go back every time I’m in Puerto Rico. Awesome guide service ! - Had an awesome day of tarpon fly fishing with Tommy, the guide with my wife. It was my first saltwater fly fishing experience. Tommy guided me through how to cast, strip, set a hook (different from trout set hook), fight (bow to the king) patiently. He had a great knowledge on all above and what spot to fish. Highly recommended ! Will come back soon.
