Parking is available on the surrounding streets and you will walk into the park to meet us. We take your safety and comfort seriously. The Visitors Center provides a clean restroom. The Visitors Center is located next to a police substation. The Historic Old Louisville Walking Tour showcases the nation’s largest Victorian Mansion district.

The Historic Old Louisville Walking Tour is a guide-led journey through the Victorian Mansion quarter at the heart of Old Louisville. The tour, envisioned by a distinguished local architect and historian, emphasizes the history and design features of this nationally acknowledged historic preservation area, home to the broadest collection of Victorian Mansions in the U.S. The tour initiates from the cozy Visitors Center in Central Park, a creation of Frederick Law Olmsted. Every ticket bought contributes to the nonprofit Old Louisville Neighborhood Council’s efforts to safeguard the nation’s most extensive uninterrupted assembly of Victorian mansions and their associated landscape. We appreciate your support in Historical Preservation! No charge for children.

Lovely tour - Terrific and knowledgeable guide. A lovely walk. Fascinating architecture. So many details to spy. A nice way to see a part of Louisville history.

A great way to experience old Louisville. - We had a great tour. The woman who led the tour (Jasmine) did a super job. Jasmine was knowledgeable about the area and the architecture of the homes. She was also receptive to questions from those on the tour. I would highly recommend this tour to get a closer look at the historic district of Louisville.

Awesome tour! - Awesome tour especially if you like architecture. Our guide was very nice and knowledgeable. The neighborhood is amazing and beautiful. We definitely recommend going if you like historical houses.

A lovely interesting area! - I had no idea such a wonderful historical area existed in Louisville. Jasmine was a wonderful guide and a wealth of information. You could tell she really liked what she was doing. I’m looking forward to visiting again during special events that Jasmine told us about. Holiday house tours and the St. James Art Fair really interested me. This area is a real hidden gem! Thank you Jasmine.

Great day for a tour! - I really enjoyed looking at all the architectural styles that were in the houses on the tour. I had never seen bump out stairs before. I really enjoyed the tour guide. She had lots of information.

Great! - Tour was great! Our guide was extremely knowledgeable and we learned all about the different types of architecture in the area. The houses are beautiful. We even got lucky and two homeowners saw us touring and invited us inside. Would highly recommend this tour especially if you enjoy learning about history.

Delightful and Informative - I highly recommend the Historic Old Louisville Walking Tour with guide Erika! She was incredibly knowledgeable and passionate about the neighborhood and its history.
The tour itself was informative and enjoyable. We learned about the different styles of architecture in the neighborhood. And it was amazing to discover that the entire section of land was originally used for the Southern Exposition in the late 1800s. As a first time visitor to Louisville, this tour is a must!
