A Must-Do Tour for Foodies and History Buffs! - A Must-Do Tour for Foodies and History Buffs! My experience on the "Secrets of Louisville: Food & History Walking Tour in NuLu" was an absolute delight from start to finish. If you're looking for a tour that perfectly blends mouth-watering food with rich local history, this is the one for you. The Food: A Culinary Adventure The culinary side of the tour was nothing short of spectacular. We were treated to a diverse and generous selection of tastings from some of NuLu's best local gems. Each stop offered a unique flavor profile, from savory to sweet, and truly showcased the neighborhood's vibrant food scene. The portions were substantial, so it felt less like a tasting and more like a full, satisfying meal. It was a fantastic way to discover new favorite spots and get a true taste of what makes NuLu a destination for food lovers. The History: Engaging and Enlightening Beyond the delicious bites, the tour was a deep dive into the fascinating history of the NuLu neighborhood. Anna was incredibly knowledgeable and passionate, weaving together captivating stories and anecdotes that brought the area's past to life. I left with a newfound appreciation for the the people, and events that shaped this unique part of Louisville. The historical context provided for each location made the entire experience feel more meaningful and connected. A Note on the Bourbon Upgrade For those who are new to bourbon or are just starting to explore it, the bourbon upgrade is a great addition to the tour. However, if you are more than a novice and already have some knowledge of bourbon, you might consider skipping this part. The focus is on a basic introduction, so experienced enthusiasts may not find it as valuable. This tour is a perfect blend of culture and cuisine. It's an ideal way to explore NuLu, learn its secrets, and enjoy some incredible food along the way. I highly recommend it to anyone visiting or even to locals who want to rediscover their city. It’s a five-star experience all around!

Fun food tour - Our tour guide Cathy was great! She was informative and energetic. My kid appreciated that she was aware of the warm weather and found us shady spots or completed the longer explanations while we were seated indoors :)

Would go back and visit these restaurants - Loved the food part of the experience. The restaurant choices were varied and included a wide range of different beverages and foods. They were all winners. The history part was lackluster, in my opinion. For example, we learned that someone founded Louisville because he hated the French, but then never found out how Louisville ended being named after a French king and having a fleur de lis as its symbol. I could certainly look it up, but that feels like key information the tour guide should have included. Overall, the nuggets of history were disjointed and lackluster. A lot of the food would be worth going back for, though.
