Highlights
  • Louisville Waterfront Park - We’re going to take a number of stops at the banks of the Ohio River, reflecting on Louisville’s origins and rich future as an iconic American city that embraces itself and the world.
  • The Kentucky Center for the Performing Arts - Arts and culture showcase the vibrancy of any city, we believe in showcasing that for residents and visitors alike at one of the hearts of Louisville.
  • Muhammad Ali Center - Muhammad Ali is one of Louisville’s most prominent citizens and the city honors his memory and contribution to the Civil Rights movement as a city in the south right here in downtown.
  • 21c Museum Hotel - Hotels are not often stops on tours, but wait until you walk into this one - a 24/7 museum that you can just happen to stay in with a Louisville origin that starts in the governors office and winds through to old money, this is a stop you don’t want to miss.
  • Kentucky Science Center - People don’t often think of Kentucky as a state that drives science and innovation, but what you probably don’t know is that the mobile phone was invented here in 1905!
  • Michter’s Fort Nelson Distillery - We don’t dwell on bourbon on this tour, but it isn’t Louisville without it so we’ll take a family friendly pit-stop at this Main Street distillery.
  • Louisville Slugger Museum & Factory - America has a lot of great sports towns and Louisville powers all of them that love baseball. Learn a bit about the history of this iconic company and an untold ghost story too!
  • Frazier History Museum - Our tour starts at the Frazier Museum, uncovering the origins of Louisville and starting off with a dose of quirky history.
  • Flame Run Glass Studio and Gallery - This city is nothing if not artistic, so we’re going to explore a glass studio that teaches glassblowing, sells incredible pieces, and is a place for all of us who are young at heart to marvel at the magic of liquid glass.

Great Self Guided Tour of Louisville - This was such a fun little adventure learning about the history of Louisville! The questions were a nice touch to make it feel almost like a scavenger hunt! The first set of directions had us turned around a bit but otherwise easy to follow with landmarks to help along the way! Highly recommend this for something quick, fun and inexpensive to explore the city!

Downtown Walking Tour - Lots of sights close together. App was fairly easy to use. Some of the directions weren't clear to me, as I wasn't sure about North and south. it was more helpful for me when directions were given toward the river or away from the river. Good information for the price.

Great place to start - Easy to use and the group members were able to follow the app on their own phones so we all could walk and comment on the places. It's short but helps understand how Louisville is conformed.

Wonder Around a Part of the City - Would have liked it better if the tour had returned to near the starting area, instead of leaving us at one end of Main St. There were worthwhile things to see along the tour, but without the Google Maps pin drops I couldn't have followed the written instructions to find all the sites. Probably would have been happier at a lower price point.

Good tour! - I thought the tour was interesting but wish we had an audio component. I also didn’t like that we weren’t given the answers to the questions if we guessed wrong. That was frustrating.

Nice idea, but difficult to follow - This is a nice concept, and we were excited to learn more about Louisville and its history. I hate to give a bad review, but this was pretty bad. The questions were a nice touch, but everything had to be typed in so precisely that it was rare to get them correct. It's difficult to do when the answer could be typed many different ways and still be correct. We use apps, maps, and technology regularly without issue, so this should have been pretty simple to follow. It was funny at first, and we joked about our intelligence, but it quickly just became frustrating. The instructions were very confusing and had several errors which resulted in sending us in the wrong direction. We finally gave up after about 20 minutes.
