Amazing tours! - We enjoyed both tours, though my favorite part was holding a baby gator! All of the swamp tour was amazing. Personally, I enjoyed the outside part of Oak Alley than the house tour. You hear about the atrocities that the slaves had to endure, but seeing everything is a different matter.

A great way to spend a day! - We thoroughly enjoyed our tour day! We were picked up and dropped off at our hotel which was very convenient. There is lots of distance driving for this tour. Thankfully, our driver Donna was a peach making g the trek pleasant. The bus was large and d well air conditioned, Although not an official guide, she was a wealth of information. She described the layout of NOLA, pointed out landmarks, explained the ecology and its challenges, and provided insight into the lifestyle of the people of the area. She was helpful and pleasant. The Oak Alley Plantation tour was interesting in that it had replicas of the slave houses and provided an insight into what slave day to day life was like. The landscape was gorgeous with its massive oak trees. The tour of the plantation mansion was informative and the guide was very knowledgeable. It did seem to lack somehow. Maybe that there really wasn’t that much to see that was authentic. The slave houses were replicas. The detached kitchen was no longer there. The juvenile house was no longer there. There were only two or three rooms in the mansion to see and most were not original furnishings, etc. I guess I thought there would be more. Still worth the visit though. The swamp tour was surprisingly the highlight of our day. Our guide (can’t remember his name) was awesome. He grew up in the swamps. He was extremely informative and interesting, He is fearless. He is like the Dr Doolittle of Alligators. I thought we might see one alligator. I think we saw at least 10. They came right up to our boat. We got to hold a baby alligator. This is mother my type of thing to do but thought my husband would like it, but I was pleasantly surprised. The whole experience was very cool!!’ Highly recommend!

Very good tour choice - This experience was great. For the swamp tour we really got out and moved around and saw something like 20 alligators and really interesting birds and it was fun cruising around on the airboat. The plantation was interesting and I enjoyed walking around the grounds. I recommend the tour.

I would rate the swamp... - I would rate the swamp tour with 10 stars if I could. It was fun, entertaining and educational. The guide was hilarious. The plantation tour was just OK…the tour guide was nice enough, but difficult to understand.

Great with some exceptions! - Plantation and Airboat was fantastic! The transportation company was a different story. The first driver pulls up and was rushing my mom to get on and wasn't friendly in any way. Gary The second driver to the event was fantastic! He was funny, informative and overall very friendly with excellent customer service. Now....the trip back...hot mess....no communication, drivers if they were not taking you were rude or dismissive and I especially felt bad for guests who didn't speak English. The driver did not take us back to our hotel like we paid, he made it convenient for him and dropped us off blocks before our hotel. Its an 8 hour event, some folks are older. It would be in their best interest to fulfill what we paid for... $150 each is alot... Overall great but the company transporting needs some help. Thanks

More time needed at plantation - Very beautiful, but unfortunately not enough time there. Needed more time to be able to listen to the talk about the slaves. We were unable to do this as house tour overlapped and then we were due back at the bus. More time needed here please.
