Thanks to our tour guide for an interesting day. We must admit, it wasn’t what we expected, but very educational. The tour showed a respect for the topography and history and the clear disparity between the opportunities available for people in the villages versus people in the larger cities. We hated to see the vanishing crafts of furniture making and tannery but understand why these guilds are being replaced. One observation is that Mexico is changing/evolving and we hope that some of the foundational culture can be preserved.

Hidden Villages is outstanding off-the-beaten-track day trip when you are looking for something that doesn't include the usual water, sun or shopping activities.
Juan picked us up in a comfortable and roomy van and was a perfect tour guide - a gentleman who described local businesses and areas with passion, yet didn't talk too much like so many tour operators often do. Hearing about the area and visiting local artisans were a highlight of our visit to the Los Cabo's.
Lunch in Los Barrilles was a surprise with lots of quality choices that were delicious and plentiful.
Although the costs of the tour seem a bit high (especially for us Canadians with our low dollar), you do end up going a fair distance and adventure into towns you would not do so on your own.

The tour was very iinformative and the guide was very knowledgeable. The only disappointment was not getting to visit the Buena Vista Hotel and military general's home. It would have been fun to have time to walk around Los Barriles, too. But all in all, it was an enjoyable and fun tour.
