• First National Bank of Hollywood - This tower was built with high expectations. At the time, Hollywood was flourishing. The architects incorporated grand buttresses and an “Explorers” motif on the siding. The beehive carved above the doors symbolized the “beehive of activity” anticipated upon its opening. • Guaranty Building - In 1923, Wilcox’s original church was demolished to make way for the 150-foot Guaranty Building seen today. It holds the distinction of being Hollywood’s first high-rise, though it lacks the glamour of its neighbors. This is because it was designed as a straightforward office space.
