- Brokeoff Mountain Trailhead - This trail offers a picturesque 7-mile out-and-back hike, ascending through red fir forests and wildflower meadows before reaching above the timberline.
- Mill Creek Falls Trailhead - This moderately challenging four-mile round trip takes approximately three hours and leads to a breathtaking 75-foot waterfall!
- Sulphur Works - The Ridge Lakes trail is a demanding two-mile hike, taking about an hour and a half. This steep path showcases some stunning glacial lakes.
- Diamond Peak Scenic Vista - A stop here is highly recommended. It offers spectacular views of the glacier-carved valleys mentioned earlier, along with a must-see view of Mount Lassen’s peak.
- Little Hot Springs Valley Overlook - This valley is filled with—you guessed it!—little hot springs. However, geysers and mud pots are absent. Instead, volcanic steam is likely to be seen rising from between the trees, resembling campfire smoke with a strong odor.
- Bumpass Trailhead - Bumpass Hell is one of Lassen’s most distinctive sights, featuring an impressive array of steam vents, mud pots, and sky-blue hot springs surrounded by orange soil.
- Lassen Peak Trailhead - This challenging five-mile hike up Mt. Lassen takes around four hours, offering dedicated hikers stunning panoramic views of the park.
- Kings Creek Trailhead - Kings Creek is one of Lassen’s shorter hikes, approximately 2.5 miles. It’s a moderate trail that takes two hours to complete, following the creek through Kings Creek Upper Meadow, where numerous wildflower varieties flourish, from the beautifully-named alpine shooting star to the less elegantly-named wandering fleabane.
- Devastated Area Loop Trail - This easy half-mile loop guides visitors through the area devastated by Lassen’s eruptions over a century ago.
- Manzanita Lake - For those seeking to immerse themselves in lush forests and lakes, these trails are ideal. For a quick option, the Reflection Lake trail is only half a mile, while the Manzanita trail is two miles and takes about an hour.
