A very challenging Tour- A very rewarding feat- The waterfall at the end is very nice. - Wild Loreto Tours are great! Santos is amazing. This tour to Tabor Canyon is not your normal hike. It is a combination of rock climbing, bouldering and steep inclines. There are 3 areas' where you need to use some ropes to get across to the next level. Santos helped very much in getting everyone into the Canyon safely. It was an experience I'll never forget, very challenging. He provided a protein snack, Powerade, and water.

Bouldering experience - This hike was a full body workout- a lot of the hike is bouldering and exploring. As someone who is very active and climbs- I loved it. Older couples stopped at the more convenient locations and waited for the return of the others who continued on till the end. Was a great way to start the day with exercise. As always the tour guides with Wild Loreto were great! Santos (a local from Loreto) was magnificent and very impressive with how he scaled and assisted hikers on the more complicated stretches. Was really pleased with the experience! ¡Gracias Santos! He deserves all the tips as he’s abilities and pride of the region were truly impressive!

Feels like real Baja - Santos is an excellent guide. He knows the flora, the fauna and the history of the area. He was very helpful and knows way specifically down to which foot to put where on the scrambles. The hike is very beautiful, but it is not a smooth trail. In fact there is no trail. It s a walk up an ever changing canyon. You will have to do small climbs and walk over and around big and small rocks. I don’t recommend wearing big cushy running shoes. Go with something grippy and lower profile!

Great tour, HIGHLY recommended! - Took the Tabor Canyon tour with Santos in mid September, a couple weeks post Hurricane Hillary. We were actually the first to take the tour after the hurricane, and it was awesome! Santos, our guide, picked us up in Loreto where we were staying and told us about the history of the area and we were on the way. When we got to the trailhead we started the really fun part. Since we were the first tour after the hurricane, we had to do a bit more "rock climbing" than originally anticipated...though admittedly not too much. We're used to hikes being more like a dirt trail, not all rocks. Not at all a problem, but just a bit of difference in what we were expecting! Good supportive shoes are HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! The hike was basically on a dried river path, not at all like "real rock climbing". Through it all, Santos explained the flora and fauna, and hevwas very detailed with his information. After all, he has lived in Loreto "just my whole life!" Again, highly recommend Santos and Wild Loreto!

Fun adventure - Our guide Santos was advertised - relaxed, focused, skilled, and a good listener when one of our group realized their shoes were not up to the demands of the "trail." We had a great time. A good workout if you go at a decent pace. Diverse terrain. A little scrambling that was fun. Learning about some plants and wildlife. And of course great views. Definitely worth doing, and having a guide seems very practical for this "trail." Recommended!

Great bouldering excursion! - Our guide, Santos, was right on time to pick us up. He has a lot of knowledge about the native plants and rock in the canyon, as well as great information about Mexican history. The hike was shorter than we expected, as it became too technical to proceed without a rope. Very beautiful canyon!

Holleee moleee! - WOW! We expected a bit of a fast paced stroll, maybe some boulders to climb over; we did not expect the EPIC adventure we experienced on this hike. Santos Davis was our guide. He grew up hiking this canyon, and has a wealth of knowledge on Indigenous, medicinal plants. We learned about several. Santos’ English was fabulous, thankfully, as our Spanish is very poor. This hike offers several levels to hikers. Those wanting only a beautiful canyon walk and to see the desert up close and personal, but aren’t up for a big adventure, don’t worry! Those wanting a little more, keep going. Those who are strong, able to hoist themselves up a short climbing rope (with the help of a patient, skilled guide), go further! And those who want a really good story/adventure, go as far as Santos will take you. Wear good hikers. Running shoes will do for the first couple of levels. We are 4 outdoorsy Yukon women. Two of us are 60, the other two are in their 40s. We hunt our own moose, whitewater paddle, undertake multi-day Yukon hikes…just so you have some context! Have a blast and say hello to Santos for us!

A challenge for sure - Be ready for a challenge with this hike - it was a bit more than we expected. Be aware that the Viator confirmation states the start time is 7 am, but the actual pick-up time is 6:30. It’s a fast-paced hike and not really a “trail” but more climbing up and over boulders. You even have to haul yourself up with cables and ropes if you want to go all the way. There is a half-way point where you can choose to wait if you don’t. Our guide, Santos, was very knowledgeable and helpful, and tried to accommodate everyone based on their abilities.
