Ruairi is a one-of-kind tour guide! - Ruairi O hEara is a stellar historical guide for his ability to bring to life the city of Derry. As a survivor of the Troubles, Ruairi offers keen insights into the nature of conflict and the challenges of peacebuilding--not only for Northern Ireland, but for all of us, wherever we come from. I've gone on his tour seven times with student groups since 2011, and he and his city keep changing. I'm always learning something new both about Derry and about being human."--Dr. Philip Metres, director of the Peace, Justice, and Human Rights program at John Carroll University (Cleveland, Ohio).

Fantastic, knowledgeable and balanced tour of Derry! - Our group of staff and volunteers from the Irish, British, Netherlands and Belgian Red Cross Socetieis did the walking tour of Derry with RuairI on the 9th of November. Despite the fact that I made an error and booked for 09:00 and then thought it was for 10:00 (thus arriving an hour late!) Ruairí was incredibly gracious and accommodating. The tour itself was fantastic - I have been on other walking tours of Derry and I felt that this was the most engaging, knowledgable, humourous, accessible and balanced tour I've experienced. Ruairí is a fantastic guide who was able to really engage the entire group. We all learned a huge amount about Derry and its history and it has given all of us a much greater appreciation for the area and the people. We will definitely be booking this tour for future visiting groups!

Awesome Derry Walking Tour - The Tours of Derry walking tour was absolutely perfect. Ruairi was informative, friendly, and presented information in an easy to understand manner. His knowledge of Derry and it’s history is impressive and he gives a balanced account of Derry’s past. We are frequent travelers and have done walking tours in many cities, but in all honesty have never enjoyed one or learned more than we did on this Tours of Derry tour with Ruairi!

The walk around the Walls worth doing - I would highly recommend a walking tour of the Derry City Walls. Ruairi is an engaging and knowledgeable guide who provides personal insights into what it was like growing up during The Troubles. There are plenty of murals to see in addition to the walls themselves. Well worth doing regardless of whether it’s raining or shining!

Great tour! Well informed! - This was a really great tour I took during my study abroad trip. Our tour guide was very well informed, and also interested in forming a personal relationship with us, which made the trip feel very comfortable. He was more than willing to answer any of our questions, and also provided some great personal narratives that added to an understanding of the town’s history. He speaks and reads Gaelic, which was really cool, and speaks very clearly and audibly; he’s very easy to listen to.
