I wanted to walk in the footsteps of my ancestors! - A brilliant history tour. A really knowledgeable and helpful guide. My ancestors came from the area and he gave us lots of help in piecing together their lives.

Learn about the darker side of London - If you love learning about off the beaten path London history, this tour is for you! Ollie was our tour guide and did a fantastic job from start to finish. We learned many interesting facts about the south side of London’s history that we wouldn’t have learned elsewhere. Ollie and his counterpart Harold/Mark kept in character, offered comedic relief, and helped us picture ourselves back in time in London. My husband even became part of the show at one point as well, which we all enjoyed! Highly recommend this tour.

What a load of Sh1t - What a load of sh1t there was in Southwark back in the period covered. Loved the tour there were only 4 of us and Olly and partner (Ann/Molly) gave it their all. Great value for money and we had a very entertaining evening.

Amazing, Immersive & detailed tour- highly recommend! - It was a really exciting, immersive tour that allowed you to see the daily struggles of the working class and about London's beginnings in a unique way.

The Best in London - This is easily the best tour we have ever done! We have done some of the other walking tours, some of the sight seeing tours and a few others. This stands out above them all! So gruesome and disgusting and OMG hilarious! Cary is such a fountain of knowledge! The actors that appear and surprise you with historic characters is incredible! Definitely the highlight of our trip!

Funny, informational, gross and grim... - Olly was a great tour guide. Very knowledgeable and entertaining. We were a small group and he handled us well. Definitely worth doing, although I would maybe skip dinner prior ;)

Beyond amazing, once in a lifetime experience! - We have been visiting London for a few days, and have been exploring the city and it's amazing sites, it's culture, activities...honestly, this tour Was the absolute highlight of our trip! We still can't believe how good this tour is, and what they deliver! The history focuses on the lives of ordinary people, which is a great refreshing take on the point of view of history. Yes it focuses on the grim, the horrible, but it is so much more! It starts off at a nice pace, the starting location of the George inn, which is stunning and then up to the river and London bridge, exploring the beginnings of the history of the area, even going into the geography. It then takes a sharp turn and becomes so intense and gruesome and horrible! Our guide Cary is hilarious, and so knowledgeable, it's kind of scary how he can answer any question in such detail! He's an absolute genius, not just in history but Linguistics, Sociology, Biology, Civics, Law, Engineering, Criminology... he even used etymological examples from Italian, Latin and Ancient Greek... WHO IS THIS GUY! Then when you think things cant get more gruesome, you suddenly meet characters from the history brought to life! it kept on growing and growing throughout the tour, to such a Climax it seemed to never stop growing! This is truly a once in a lifetime event, the fact that this company doesn't do more tours is a crime, A CRIME! We need more! Whatever you do, whatever you see, do this, Do this tour and you won't believe what you've experienced even after you've finished it. It's been days and we're still talking about it. By far the best tour out there! Do yourself a favour and go on this tour, it's a must!

Great fun and very educational! - Great experience and very educational, tour guide was very knowledgeable and excellent throughout, had great fun, all the family enjoyed themselves and would very much recommend!

Excellent tour - This tour was so great!! Gruesome and grisly but also very informative and taught us lots of new facts about London. Mary was a fantastic guide and we enjoyed meeting Harold and Mark too. Would 100% recommend. Thanks Mary!

Not at all what i was expecting left half way! - I signed up for this having done about 10 or so other events in london. Lovely guy, but the actual tour was just walking to a few random spots (very little walking) and not really learning about anything to do with where you were stood at all. Was expecting like other tours ‘on this spot at this date this happened’ a few murders etc but nope! Anyway was very disappointed and a bit bored so we left halfway through. Sorry!
