  • The Mayflower Pub - Visit the 16th century pub where the Mayflower was once moored
  • St Mary’s Rotherhithe - A beautiful example of English Baroque architecture, St. Mary’s Church has existed since the 13th century, but was rebuilt in the early 18th century. It is where Christopher Jones, the captain of the Mayflower was buried.
  • Thames River - We will enjoy beautiful views of the River Thames throughout the trip and will also cross under it, using the Thames Tunnel, built between 1825 and 1843 by Marc Brunel and his son Isambard. This remarkable feat of engineering was the first tunnel of its kind under a navigable river.

Today, the tunnel is part of the East London Line on the London Underground.

  • The Captain Kidd - A beautiful riverside mansion that was later converted into a pub, the Captain Kidd takes its name from one of history’s most notorious pirates.

Owned by the Sam Smith’s brewery, this pub boasts an excellent selection of traditional English ales

  • Execution Dock - actual location - Visit the spot where many pirates met their grisly fates, including Captain Kidd, who inspired Robert Louis Stevenson to write Treasure Island
  • Town of Ramsgate - A very traditional pub with a beautiful riverside garden. There has been a pub on this site since the 1460s, although the current establishment was founded in 1545.

  • Wapping - Learn about the history of Wapping, one of the most historic neighbourhoods of the London Docklands.

Yarrrrrrrr! - Arthur's tour of the pubs of Rotherhithe is an absolute delight. He speaks engagingly about the history of the area, the pubs and the city in general, and there the opportunity for a great pint too!

Absolutely incredible pub tour! - This tour is a must for history lovers. Arthur has so much knowledge about all things London! We learned so much whilst on a pub crawl…couldn’t think of a better day out. 100% worth it.
