Well Worth a Visit - Nice views from top of hill over Royal Naval College and towards Docklands. Observatory has interesting collection of old telescopes used at various times, along with fascinating exhibition of timepieces and history of determining longitude. Actual meridian is a bit underwhelming

A day in Greenwich (observatory and other fun things) - I love astronomy and wanted to see the Prime Meridian (I actually went to the equator in Ecuador in 2022). It was a great day and easy to see the Cutty Sark, the observatory, walk in Greenwich park, and have a pub lunch.

Royal Observatory, Greenwich. - After visiting the Cutty Sark, the day continued with lunch in Greenwich Park and then at the Royal Observatory. With it being set upon a hill, be prepared to a steep walk up. I had purchased the entry ticket together with the Cutty Sark entry ticket, saving myself some money by doing it this way. I used the audio guide by scanning the QR code and found this easy to use and very informative, providing a better understanding of what I was viewing. The tour begins in Flamsteed House, moves to The Meridian Observatory and finally over to The South Site. Of course the main attraction was the Meridian Line, a short line set in the courtyard. Well worth the visit and thoroughly recommend this as a day out.

The tour was amazing-Mary was fantastic! - We went to the Royal Observatory today for a tour. It is set in the beautiful palatial Greenwich park. What I didn’t realise is that you gave to pay for an entry ticket even if you have booked a tour. But despite that, the tour was so excellent it was worth it. We met outside Flamsted house,we were then given things that you can use to hear the talk more clearly which was a fantastic idea. We went to 5 different areas of the Royal Observatory. The tour was absolutely fascinating and I felt I learnt a lot. Mary our tour guide was fabulous, they explained everything clearly, brought it to life and you could tell that they had a genuine passion for the Royal Observatory. It was amazing to see everything such as the Octagon Room, the telescope etc. It is such an iconic place with so much history which I recommend you take a look at anyway. Also the advantage of the ticket is that if you want to re-see anything, you can! I would highly recommend this tour for anyone but it is sort of weather dependent. I would allow arriving at Greenwich park 30 minutes at the very least before a tour. These tours run twice a day.

Great site of British history and global importance - Located at the top of the hill in Greenwich park, looking over east London and to the city in the west. Metered parking in park adjacent ti observatory and 15 minute walk from Greenwich station. Excellent level of restoration of the buildings and living spaces. The history is well presented and explained throughout the exhibitions. Great views of London. Gift shop on site. Entry fee is relatively expensive at £20 plus, but if you buy a Greenwich museums membership you get free access to all Greenwich sites for a year (£65 for a couples membership at time of visit). Great photo opportunity at the actual Greenwich Meantime Meridian line.

Would Recommend! - The Royal Observatory in Greenwich was a very historical and relevant place to visit. While the climb to reach the Observatory was steep, the views leading to the Royal Observatory was incredible. It was a nice place to visit and to be educated about the discoveries made there.

Price too high just to walk on the line. - Really looked forward to visiting here to place myself on the meridian line and didn't. Only because we'd have needed to pay nearly £50 for the privilege as you had to pay to get into the Observatory as well. So daft having to pay SO much. The view from here was spectacular though, and the food in the cafe was reasonably priced for London. Took the ferry to get here and back from central London which was great.

One Small Step Across the World - Visiting the Prime Meridian at the Royal Observatory in Greenwich is a neat bucket-list experience you quite literally get to stand with one foot in each hemisphere. The historical significance is undeniable, and for geography lovers or science buffs, the chance to be at the exact place where east meets west is genuinely cool. However, the experience can feel a bit underwhelming for the casual visitor. The line to take a photo straddling the meridian can be long, especially during peak times, and the ticket price for the full observatory access might not feel fully justified if you’re mainly there for the meridian line itself. The museum offers interesting astronomy exhibits and stories of maritime navigation, but it’s best appreciated if you’re deeply curious about the subject. That said, the views from the observatory over Greenwich Park and London’s skyline are beautiful and worth the uphill walk. The surrounding grounds are lovely for a post-visit picnic or wander.

Nice, but for kids it's a little hard to understand - - interesting informations about the change of earth throughout time - not easy for non-english-speakers (kids) - audioguide is unfortunately not really helping - fun possibility for photos (standing between both halves of the earth)
