Amazing staff - Wow - obviously the zoo itself was as great as expected BUT what stood out for us were the staff and volunteers! I don't think any one of them could of done any more. They were ALL so kind, thoughtful, engaging and eager to help and assist. No matter who we spoke with - whether seeking directions, locating animals or more detailed info they were fab

If you are a blue pass holder show it as you drive In and the parking will be free. Not entirely sure how much otherwise. Perfect birthday day out - We went for my daughters 18th birthday and had an amazing day. We pre booked tickets via my blue light card, this made entry so quick and simple. The day was perfect, the talks were great, we got to see most animals, and the drinks/snacks were reasonable. Overall we had a perfect day 😉

A birthday day out treat - We had an enjoyable day at the zoo. It was a treat for my husband's birthday. The animals looked well cared for but quite a lot were in hiding. Disappointed not to see, as in the old days, the aquarium, polar bears, pandas and a few other old favourites. The area where the lions were "living in India" was needing money spent on updating (I know that it's meant to be shabby but it was too shabby!) We waited about 30 minutes each time for the 274 bus. London Transport need to provide a more frequent service as it's about a mile from the nearest station.

A nice day out - The zoo was lovely and well kept in most places. Lots of animals to see and go into the indoor / outdoor habitat to see where the animal may be. Zoo was well signposted and easy to navigate The only two down points were 1. Some of the water areas for the animals looked half empty and considering the amount of rain we have had that was quite surprising 2. Children- the amount of children running around, screaming and the parents not keeping an eye on them was mad. It is distracting when signs says to be quiet or not bang on the windows to respect the animals and it is ignored.

Worth the money :) - Went for the day and managed to stay for 5 - 6 hours. Every animal is worth visiting, so make sure you plan time accordingly! Being able to walk with animals freely was the highlight of the trip. Best part is every monkey enclosure, and there was quite alot. The only downside was the lack of food options, and the ones they had were overpriced with lack of options. (bring packed lunch.)

The Terrace Restaurant, slow service. - Myself, my mother and my son had a fantastic day at ZSL London Zoo (18th May 2024), however, the service at The Terrace restaurant was terrible. The food came out quickly but the server taking payments at the till was very slow, then we got to the condiments/cutlery section and there was no cutlery at all and we had to wait 10 minutes for some to be brought out. By the time the cutlery came out the food was cold. There was also no napkins and only 2 tills out at peak lunch time. Not good enough for the zoos main source of income.

Poor value - I would not recommend a visit to this zoo. As per some other reviews this place is dilapidated, over grown with weeds and devoid of actual animals. The animals they are kept here are in small enclosures. This zoo needs a major overhaul and if that’s not viable it should be closed. Overall it’s a disgrace and not worth the cost of entry.

Depressingly Bad! - I’ve been to many zoos around the world, some excellent, some not so good- but London Zoo has to be the worst. The enclosures were overgrown, dirty and rundown. Many of the old concrete structures from less enlightened times still exist which makes for depressing and unsuitable environments for animals and humans alike. A high percentage of the enclosures were empty. Parrot cages were small. Tiger and lion enclosures were tatty and overgrown. Primates were few. It would be interesting to know just how many animals the zoo actually has. Penguins seemed to have the best accommodation package - large mammals the losers as usual. Saw more wildlife in the toilets which were utterly disgusting. As the zoo attached to our capital city, it is a shameful representation of how this country curates a zoo. A pity because we have sone very good animal parks around the country. Perhaps time for this zoo of almost 200 years to either make BIG changes or call it a day. Times have changed.
