Our amazing tour guide Tuci (sp?) went above & beyond - this tour is well worth the price! - The enjoyment of any guided tour in large part depends on your guide: in our instance, our guide Tuci (apologies if I've misspelled this) was absolutely amazing. She gives off incredibly positive vibes and is kind and friendly - these qualities combined with the tour itself lent themselves to an absolutely enjoyable experience and well worth the price of admission. In addition to Tuci pointing out points of interest of Ljubljana on foot, we were also given insight into the food/wine we'd be sampling. At our first stop, Tuci pulled out a map of Slovenia to explain how the country itself "sorta kinda" looks like a chicken running away from Italy, and if you look at a map you'll see what I mean! She then was able to use this as a reference when explaining where a food, or wine came from, eg "the chicken's head" or "the chicken's leg" etc. - this was a very useful and quirky tool that made it easy for everyone to understand where a food/wine originated. The food and wine themselves were very good: (1) we started with fried chicken and a white wine (fried chicken being the traditional Slovenian Sunday family dinner); (2) then we had some cheese, prosciutto, olives and a delcious red; (3) from there we tried a traditional Slovenian "dumpling" with a delicious mushroom sauce and white wine; (4) then we went for a taste of the "queen of sausage" with what was described as a "sour" rose; finished by (5) a traditional Slovenian cake with a sparkling wine, atop a beautiful building with amazing 360 degree views. At the end of the day, handshakes were replaced by a hug, which was warm & sincere (especially as Tuci had explained that Ljubljana [which means "beloved" in Slovenian] is the city of love). If I could give this 6 stars, I would!

Tasty and Fun - Anna gave us an overview of the history of Ljubljana which was beneficial to us since we had just arrived. The 5 places we visited had tasty local food as well as the wine. I would've preferred more red wine however. The best part was the last place we visited which had a great view of the city and their very tasty local dessert.

Food tour also with city highlights - We really enjoyed our tour with our guide being very knowledgeable providing information about the food and the city. We tried a lot of food and drinks that we otherwise wouldn’t have known to try and really enjoyed it all. Since we had a small tour our guide went above and beyond and helped us pick out a few things at the market.

Best food and wine tour in Ljubljana - Jasmina provided an enthusiastic tour of the historic center of Ljubljana along with a fun and informative tastings of typical food tastings paired with Slovenian wines. The food samples were delicious and ample and the wines were very well matched to the food. At the end of the tour we were full. Highly recommend! Please ask for Jasmina. She will keep you entertained while teaching you the history of her city and country.
