Hop on a small train that takes you deep into the renowned cave and walk through the surreal arrangement of stalactites, stalagmites and caverns guided by a local expert. The group size is limited to eight participants to maintain an intimate atmosphere. Postojna Cave, the world’s most recognized cave, is not only Slovenia’s prime tourism magnet but also one of the largest Karst formations globally. It is an essential destination when touring Slovenia. The adventure begins with a unique and exciting miniature train ride through one of the world’s most varying cave systems. With 21 kilometers of paths, galleries, and grand halls providing a remarkable underground exploration and a wide range of subterranean wildlife, including the globally acclaimed human fish (proteus anguinus). In addition to Postojna Cave, you’ll have the opportunity to visit Predjama Castle. Our guide will lead you to this outstanding medieval castle, fixed firmly in a sheer cliff in the serene village of Predjama. It’s a captivating and romantic sight year-round: resplendent with blooms and flowers in the spring and summer, draped in the hues of surrounding forests in the autumn, and radiating charm in the winter when the nearby region is blanketed in snow.

Must see! - Tomaz was a wonderful driver and guide for the day. Postojna Cave and Predjama Castle exceeded expectations! Enhanced by beautiful weather and few tourists out that day.

Postojna Caves & Predjama Castle - We did the half day Postojna Caves & Predjama Castle tour with Nina as our guide. Excellent all round; Nina was very knowledgeable and gave us plenty of information on the journey to the Caves. We had clear instructions on ticket purchase and meet times and Nina answered any questions we had. Caves and castle exceeded our expectations and were definitely worth visiting. We could have done with an extra 30 mins in the castle to fully complete the audio guide, but this is a minor comment. Thank you for a lovely tour. Alison & Richard

Great day out - highly recommend - I originally booked a half day tour to just see the Postojna Cave and Predjama Castle. 0820 pickup in an easy to find location and off to the Caves to start. It was a really nice group of people and our Guide - Tine - was excellent and really informative. The Caves are unbelievable and there is a moment when you're on the train and first see them that takes everyone by surprise. We then went to the Castle and again there was a !! moment when you see it emerging from the cliff. My tour should have ended after there but the day was so interesting and fun that I was able to pay the extra to make it the full day tour & stay with the group who were heading to Lake Bled for the afternoon. We had brilliant weather and were able to get a pletna boat to Bled Island before coming back and going to Bled Castle for more stunning views.
Although it was a really full day, at no point did it feel rushed or that we were waiting around - just well managed and organised by Tine and a great day.

Great half day trip to 2 must see attractions! - Karina was an excellet guide! 45 min drive to the caves and then its a 10 min drive to the castle. She gave as a brief history lesson with interesting facts about Slovenia and the castle and the caves. Very enjoyable tour. Had plenty time in both attractions. Temperature inside caves is 10 C so dress accordingly! Would recommend!

Caves and castles - It was our youngest’s favorite part of the trip. A lot to see in both excursions. Leave a couple hours to do each.

Great half day tour - We were looking for a half day tour that would get us back to the city by 2 pm, and this half day tour worked out great. Both cave and castle were amazing, we have seen lots of caves but never one that required a train ride to see!
We wanted to be picked up by our hotel in the morning to save 20 min, and the 8 passenger van showed up promptly at time specified. Being the last two and with someone already sitting at the front, one of us had to squeeze in the front while the other sat behind. The rides were not long but something to consider, perhaps it would have been better to get on the van in the original meeting place. We were dropped off there afterwards so walked back to the hotel since van needed to pick up other passengers for the afternoon tour.

Conference trip and walking tour - Before our conference we were looking for something to entertain guests and found the perfect activity in the Predjama Castle, Postonja Cave and visiting Lake Bled. We further expanded our activities with a walking tour that was slightly larger than usual but this was no problem for the skilled guides at Slovenia Explorer.
It was a hot day out but we had a good shuttle with solid airconditioning, Slovenia explorer handled all the difficulties of getting the tickets, priority lane for our group and explaining about the locales and the country on the road and at the sights.
We were very satisfied with our leisurely tour at a good price and despite traffic difficulties. We definitely recommend this company for group events!

Good Tour if You Don't Have a Vehicle - The tour guide was pleasant and the trip went smoothly. Looking back, I think this package works better for people who don't have any transportation. The guide only "guides" during transportation and then you get an audio self guide at the castle and then a separate guide from the cave (which everyone gets with a ticket purchase normally). If I had known, I would have just driven there and saved the $.
