Highlights
  • Triglav National Park - Small group approach with carefully planned time, where experienced local tour operator’s chauffeur guide will collect you at designated location for an informative hourly ride to mountainous Alpine region of Bohinj to visit the only national park in Slovenia.

National Park Triglav covers almost 5% of Slovenian territory. .

  • Lake Bohinj - Bohinj and surrounding area are known as one of the most interesting Slovenian regions as far as ethnology and natural protected area is concerned. We’ll pass the picturesque villages along Sava River passing by many Toplar hayracks, spotting bee hives as region is famous for its beekeepers and local honey production.

Short stop at lake Bohinj , nested in the heart of the Julian Alps, this jewel is a precious natural resource and at the same time offers endless opportunities for outdoor activities. More than a third of the water flows into the lake from the Karst springs under the lake surface along the northern shore. During heavy rainfall, the Karst waters gush out as the Govic spring on the Pršivec hillside.

  • Waterfall Savica - Your time spent in Bohinj would not be complete without a visit to one of Slovenia’s most famous and the most scenic waterfalls. To reach the waterfall it’s a roughly 30 min. walk up a partially paved and well maintained forest path with about 500 steps with benches and vista stops alongside. The waterfall itself drops a towering 78m into a large water sink.

An inspirational sight, it has often been written about by well-known Slovenian poets and writers.

  • Lake Bled - Stop at Bled on the way back will be time permitted.

After a nice half day experience we will return back to Bled and Ljubljana.

Drop off will be at same location as pick up.

Additional Information

Experience untouched tranquility at the base of the Alps!

Our journey today commences at Lake Bohinj, the largest naturally formed glacial lake in Slovenia. Whilst Bohinj may not have the glitz of Bled, it offers less congestion and more authenticity. Our route traces the path of the principal feeder river Savica, navigating through the pristine forests of NP Triglav, eventually leading us to the mystical Savica waterfall, a unique global natural spectacle – its stream splits into two within hidden caverns. The famed A-shaped waterfall comes into view usually at an elevation of 836 metres and has a height of 78 metres.

We will pause for a photo opportunity at Bled, as time allows!

The Falls was a nice surprise - Milo was a wonderful driver/guide/hiker. Milo was so informative and interesting to speak with. We actually spent two tours with him and we were happy to see him again for the second one. He was able to tailor this tour to our interests which was really nice. We stopped by Lake Bohinj which is absolutely beautiful and was able to take all the photos we wanted and did a short stop to Lake Bled (because we had another tour to that later) and then took a nice hike to the waterfall. Milo was patient and in better shape than the rest of us (he did that hike without even getting winded) and waited as we did photos and got a little drink as we all chatted. He gave us so much info on the things we were seeing. It was such a pleasure to take this tour with this guide. Would definitely recommend this tour
