Additional Information

Psiloritis Mountain, with its peak at 2,456m, is notably the tallest mountain in Crete.

Greek mythology stories prominently feature the Psiloritis mountain range, specifically Idaion Antron. Folklore states that this cave was the nurturing ground for Deus, the Supreme God. Ancient Zominthos ruins and neighboring expanses bear the testimony of the mountain’s habitation since the Minoan era. Signs of landscape utilization over different periods are evident in the dispersed settlements along the mountain edges and the extensive pastoral activities undertaken by native locals on the mountain slopes.

First time up a mountain - Was our first time up a mountain. Highest mountain in Estonia is 318 m above sea level compared to Psiloritis which is 2456 m so it was completely unique experience. The walking sticks and water that were given really paid off. Our guide was really nice and helpful. The view was amazing and making it to the top felt even better. Certainly really great choice of acitivity if you are looking to do more besides enjoying beaches and sun.
