• Convento de Cristo - Upon reaching Tomar, explore its treasures, including the Castle of Tomar and the Convent of Christ. • Tomar - After visiting the castle and convent, wander through the Historic Center of Tomar. Discover more historical and Templar landmarks, experience the local community’s vibrant Templar culture, and enjoy the scenic river and charming town corners.
• Tomar - (OPTIONAL) It’s time for lunch. Although not included in the tour package, time has been allocated for it. Details will be arranged once the tour is booked.
• Batalha Monastery - Next, head to Batalha to visit the Monastery, a stunning example of Portuguese and European architecture. This magnificent structure was built as a promise by King João I after his victory at the Battle of Aljubarrota in the late 14th century, securing Portugal’s independence. The construction spanned over 150 years, resulting in an architecturally breathtaking building, recognized as a World Heritage Site for over 40 years.
• Monastery of Alcobaca - Proceed to Alcobaça. Upon arrival, enjoy a leisurely walk through the charming historic center, along the rivers, and savor the award-winning sweet “cornucópias.” Visit the 12th-century Alcobaça Monastery, a UNESCO heritage site. If you prefer not to explore the entire Monastery, at least visit the impressive Gothic royal abbey, home to two exquisitely carved stone tombs and a poignant love story. A must-see experience.
• Alcobaca - (TASTING) Visiting Alcobaça without trying the traditional pastries would be a missed opportunity. Delight in the sweet “cornucópias,” a typical and award-winning pastry. Enjoy it on us.
• Lisbon - It’s time to return to Lisbon. If time permits and you’re interested, a short detour to the medieval town of Óbidos can be arranged. Our guide will gladly show you around this picturesque town with its cobbled streets, unique shops, and 12th-century castle. The choice is yours. We’re here to accommodate you.
