  • Casa do Alentejo - Following our gathering at Rossio Square, we’ll head to an old casino to sample some “petiscos” — Portugal’s take on tapas. Discover one of Lisbon’s hidden gems in the city center.
  • Ginjinha Sem Rival - Next, we’ll proceed to a local tavern to try the renowned ginginha (cherry liquor), a drink originally concocted by a monk in a convent to soothe a cough.
  • Convento do Carmo - Our subsequent stop will be at one of Lisbon’s oldest landmarks, “The Convent of Carmo.” Learn about the 1755 earthquake and the famous Carnation Revolution.
  • Elevador de Santa Justa - Enjoy the view of the magnificent Santa Justa Elevator without waiting in the long queue.
  • Bairro Alto - Then, we’ll explore Bairro Alto, which evolved into Lisbon’s bohemian quarter for aristocrats and writers, and today serves as the hub of the city’s nightlife.
  • Igreja de São Roque - The Church of São Roque is a Catholic church in Lisbon, dedicated to São Roque and constructed at the end of the 16th century. It was one of the first Jesuit churches in the world and served as the main church of the Society of Jesus in Portugal for over 200 years until the Jesuits were expelled in the 18th century. The São Roque church was one of the few buildings in Lisbon to remain largely intact after the 1755 earthquake.
  • Praça Luís de Camões - Next, we’ll arrive at Camões Square, where I’ll share the tales of the remarkable Portuguese voyages of the 16th century.
  • Manteigaria - Pastéis de Nata Factory - Savor a fresh and warm custard tart, the original sweet pastry of Lisbon. The original recipe hails from the Monastery of St. Jeronimo in Belém.
  • Praça Luís de Camões - Stop at a local spot where you’ll recognize some photos of Anthony Bourdain; it’s the place where he tasted the bifana (pork sandwich).
  • Castelo de S. Jorge - We’ll conclude the tour at a wine house, where you’ll enjoy a variety of typical regional products and red wine.
