- Sitio de Nazaré - The first stop is the promontory, known as Sitio, where numerous must-see attractions are conveniently located within walking distance. Begin at the Suberco viewpoint, standing 110 meters high, offering stunning views of the town and Nazaré beach. Following this, explore the area, including a visit to the Ermida da Memória to hear a famous local legend, and the 14th-century Sanctuary of Nossa Senhora da Nazaré, where you’ll uncover something intriguing.
- Forte de Sao Miguel - The next stop is the 16th-century Fort, now home to the Big Wave Surf Museum and Interpretive Center of the Nazaré Canyon. Perched atop the cliff, it overlooks the Nazaré Canyon, known for its legendary Giant Waves. Depending on the season, you might witness daring surfers riding these waves. Here, you’ll learn all about the big wave phenomenon of Nazaré.
- Praia da Nazare - Before heading back to Lisbon, there’s a third stop. Visit Nazaré’s golden sandy beach and the town’s historic streets, particularly the fishermen’s quarter, where you’ll discover local traditions, especially those related to fishing. Enjoy meeting the Varinas, local women dressed in their vibrant seven skirts. They can be quite cheeky at times!
- Nazare - It’s soon time to return to Lisbon, but if you’d like to enjoy a local lunch (where you can savor some of the world’s finest fish and seafood), just let us know in advance. If possible, we would be delighted to extend your tour a bit longer for a delightful lunch in Nazaré.
- Lisbon - Returning to the Lisbon area, the journey lasts between 5 and 7 hours, depending on optional visits and whether you choose to have lunch locally. For transparency, please note that in addition to the 2 hours allocated for the attractions in the itinerary, the remaining 3 to 5 hours include: 3 hours for total travel time, and 2 hours for optional activities.

Note: The sighting of the world’s largest surfable waves, over 25 meters high (+80 ft), is primarily between November and March. While frequent during this period, sightings depend on favorable weather conditions, so giant wave sightings cannot be guaranteed.
