We’ll be using a classic tram to reach Principe Real and Bairro Alto. These eclectic areas are home to quaint streets, plazas, and viewpoints, offering a selection of boutique stores and dining locations. After we awe at an astounding “gem cathedral,” we’ll make our way downwards to Chiado, a renowned cultural and literary neighborhood that has been the vibrant hub for shopping since the 1800s. Here, you can expect a bustling, cosmopolitan atmosphere around the clock, where people congregate for a cup of coffee, some retail therapy, or a meal before embarking on a night out. This thriving scene is reminiscent of the Belle Époque era when this district was the heart of theatre, boasting the finest shops, clubs, and cafés, serving as the meeting point and source of inspiration for writers, intellectuals, and artists. Notable figures include illustrious writer Eça de Queiroz and the captivating poet Fernando Pessoa.
