Brilliant birthday with Pedro - We had the best time exploring Lisbon with Pedro! He was super friendly and knowledgeable - it was like a food tour combined with a historical and cultural walking tour. Pedro had planned a great route for us and took us to some beautiful sites. So many of the places we would not have known about and would have walked straight past. We also would not have known what to order so it was great that Pedro sorted everything out for us (including skipping long queues). Pedro had a story/ narrative for each thing we ate/ drank which just made it so much more of an experience. The food stops were perfectly timed/ spaced throughout the tour. Pedro showed us great short cuts throughout the city and made a point of orientating us at each stage so that we benefited from knowing our way around the city by the end of our time with him. We had a fantastic time on our food tour - it was fun, informative and extremely delicious - and cannot recommend Pedro highly enough!

An Exceptional Experience - History, Stories, Food, and Drink - What an amazing tour today with Angelo in Lisbon, Portugal. We expected a few tapas and were blown away by the wonderful and plentiful food and drink, from the best Portugese tarts we have ever had, to the original cherry liquer, the fantastic pork sandwiches, and the cod risotto and croquettes - and that doesn't even cover all the food or drink. Angelo has personally selected each spot, and the quality was top notch everywhere. This is the true food and drink of Portugal, prepared and served by small restauranteurs. Angelo explained the history and cultural significance of each drink and dish - absolutely exceptional. Not only did we enjoy all of the food, but were treated to such wonderful stories of Lisbon's colourful history. We saw so many sights in the historical area and Angelo's knowledge is so extensive we were completely enthralled. His passion and love of the history and culture of Lisbon shines through. What a wonderful tour guide! We would rate this as the best, most enjoyable tour we have ever taken anywhere, thanks to Angelo. (And we are experienced travellers) Don't miss this private, small group tour, and ask for Angelo!

Definite must! - With Locals, and especially Sofia, felt like wandering around a new town with an old friend that happens to love and know everything about it. You feel less like a tourist and more like you've had an authentic local connection. Completely recommend.

A great food and history experience! - We’d never used WithLocals before, but on our trip to Lisbon we gave it a try. Being able to look at the bio and reviews to help choose our specific tour guide was great! Ângelo’s knowledge of the history of Lisbon, as well as the culinary scene was extensive. Not only did we get insight on the “food tour” aspects, but we learned more about the city and country than we’d ever expected. If you’re looking for a “one on one” experience for a private group, and more than just a “typical” food tour, you can’t go wrong if you choose Ângelo as your guide.

Highlight of our Lisbon Trip! Amazing experience esp. with kids! - I did the culinary kickstart tour with my 6 year old son in February. This is the best tour to start your Lisbon journey. I could not be happier with the entire experience. Angelo is an amazing guide and person. Entire time, he was professional, informal, caring and friendly. He shared so much info about the history, culture, traditions, ways of living, as well as the food that this tour is way more than a food tour! It was clear that he meticulously planned the route, tastings - to choose the most delicious and authentic experiences! He started sharing suggestions from the moment we booked, continued during the tour, as well as after we finished the tour. Angelo also wowed me with his ability to interact with children so elegantly. So much so that the tour was meant to me 2 hours, but we ended up doing 4 hours! I could not have imagined my young son staying engaged so long, and was only possible with Angelo’s amazing communication style and ability. This has been the highlight of our Lisbon trip. I would recommend this tour with Angelo to anyone, especially on day 1/2 of their stay, but especially to those with kids, this is a unique experience!

Awesome tour - David was fantastic! Very knowledgeable, took us to some amazing places and also told us very interesting history about the city and the places we were going and what we were eating. Also gave us recommendations for dinner later. I would definitely recommend David!

A wonderful tour of Lisbon - We enjoyed our tour with Alphe very much. He is knowledgable and passionate about what he does and knows some little gems to go to for authentic family cooked food. On top of that he is a warm, wonderful human being who it is a pleasure spending time with, we were sad to part ways at the end of our tour and felt like we had made a new friend! Highly recommend a tour with Alphe!

Culinary Kickstart Tour: Lisbon - I rarely ever write reviews, but we did the 6 tasting Lisbon tour with Ângelo and we were so impressed. He was beyond passionate about the city, and he taught us a lot about the local culture (even after we had been on a few tours in Lisbon). The restaurants he took us to were locals only spots, and the food was phenomenal. He hand picks his spots based on his favorite restaurants, vs. some other food tours that go to the same spots across all guides. It was the genuinely the highlight of our trip to Lisbon—we really felt like we were part of the city we were visiting.
