A Journey of Faith and Discovery

As a travel writer and a mother of three, I am always on the lookout for experiences that are both enriching and family-friendly. Our journey continued to the charming beach town of Nazaré. Known for its golden sands and vibrant atmosphere, it was the perfect spot for a quick lunch at the local food trucks. The kids enjoyed the casual dining experience, and we all relished the chance to stretch our legs and soak in the coastal beauty. Although a dense fog rolled in, obscuring the famous high waves, the town’s charm was undeniable. We opted for a tuk-tuk ride to explore more of the area, which added a fun twist to our adventure.

A Stroll Through Time in Obidos

Our final stop was the medieval village of Obidos, a picturesque town that seemed to have leaped straight out of a fairy tale. The narrow cobbled streets and colorful houses provided a delightful backdrop for our exploration. My children were fascinated by the imposing medieval castle, and we spent time wandering through the quaint shops and sampling the local cherry liquor, Ginja.

The day was long, filled with driving and brief stops, but it offered a wonderful sampler of Portugal’s diverse landscapes and rich history. The van ride was comfortable enough for the kids to rest between stops, and the variety of experiences kept them engaged throughout the day.
