- Padrão dos Descobrimentos - Designed by Cottinelli Telmo (1897–1948) and sculptor Leopoldo de Almeida (1898–1975), the Padrão dos Descobrimentos was initially erected in 1940 in a temporary form for the Portuguese World Exhibition, using perishable materials. It featured a light iron and cement frame, with the molded sculpture made of gypsum (composed of plaster and burlap, reinforced by a wooden and iron structure). The monument was reconstructed in 1960 to commemorate 500 years since the death of Infante Dom Henrique (Henry the Navigator). This time, it was crafted from concrete and rose-tinted Leiria stone masonry, with sculptures made of Sintra limestone masonry.
- Mosteiro dos Jerónimos - The Jerónimos Monastery, also known as the Hieronymites Monastery, is one of the most visited sites in Lisbon, alongside the Tower of Belém. UNESCO designated it a World Heritage Site in 1983. In Portuguese, this landmark is referred to as Mosteiro dos Jerónimos.
- Palácio Nacional da Ajuda - In the early 18th century, King John V intended to construct a summer residence on Ajuda hill. However, the Royal Palace was only built after the 1755 Earthquake, which destroyed the royal residence, Paço da Ribeira (Ribeira Palace), at Terreiro do Paço (Palace Public Square). Under King José I’s initiative, the Royal Palace of Ajuda was established on the land acquired by his father, initially as a wooden structure known as the Real Barraca (the Royal Hut), which burned down in 1794, and later as the Palace seen today.
- Pastéis de Belém - In the early 19th century, in Belém, adjacent to the Jerónimos Monastery, there was a sugar cane refinery linked to a small shop. Due to the 1820 Liberal Revolution, all Portuguese convents and monasteries were closed, leading to the expulsion of workers and clergy. To survive, someone from the Monastery began selling sweet pastries at the shop, which quickly became known as “Pastéis de Belém” (Belém Pastries) due to their location, and the recipe remains unchanged to this day.
