An essential visit - It took a long time for the country to start acknowledging and accepting Bomber Command and this centre is a very fitting tribute to it. Our guide, Mark, brought it to life with stories and details of the development of the IBCC. Everyone at IBCC were very helpful in ensuring our group visit went well. We highly recommend a visit but please make sure you allow plenty of time for your visit to absorb the atmosphere and history.

Interesting and Solemn Tribute Experience - Visited VE Day week to pay our respects to the many who never returned. Large car park, easy access to the interactive bomber command rooms telling the story of the many. Busy cafe, but quick service, good range of food at reasonable prices. The poppy Lancaster is amazing, super location with view to Lincoln Cathedral. A fitting location, as many aircrews would have seen the cathedral heading off to bomb Europe, and knowing nearly home as they saw it on their return. The spire and memorial boards are a solemn reminder of the number of aircrew who made the ultimate sacrifice to give us our way of life today.

Brilliant place to visit. - We went on the anniversary of VE day so it was very busy. We joined a guided tour which was excellent. Our guide was so knowledgeable and keen to advise anyone who had relatives who were in bomber command. We would highly recommend a visit and the exhibition was excelent too.

Emotional place. - Very emotional place with many walls with the names of those killed in the 2nd World War. The spire was the height of the width of the wing span of a Lancaster bomber. A lovely, very knowledgeable lady took us round.

Super Place for a Day Out - I visited today with four other ladies of a certain age, what a wonderful place, greeted at the door by a lovely cheerful gentleman volunteer and that set the tone for the entire visit. The ladies on the reception were similarly cheerful, enthusiastic and helpful, answering all our questions and explaining what was there for us to see, when the guided tours were leaving, where to assemble and the approximate duration. Coffee was our next priority, the restaurant was airy, very clean and inviting. Numbered tables, order at the counter and lovely young ladies bring your order to you. Refreshed, we joined the next guided tour, a lovely gentleman, who knew his subject inside out, escorted us around the site, pointing out things of note and telling us about several individuals and their exploits during war time. Lunchtime took us back to the restaurant, excellent menu, something for everyone, vegetarian and vegan options available all at very reasonable prices, again, order and pay at the counter and again orders bought to the table, all at the same time by lovely enthusiastic young ladies. All the food was first class and very good value. Finished the trip looking round the exhibition which consisted of films, interactive displays, photographs and items of interest. The shop sold quality goods at reasonable price. The whole day was wonderful, all the team gave the impression they were there for you and thoroughly enjoyed their work. The site is beautifully maintained with stunning views over the historic city of Lincoln, can’t recommend the Centre enough.

Highly recommended - The IBCC team are fantastic. We had a great welcome, a fascinating and engaging tour, a delicious lunch and than viewed the thought-provoking exhibition. The IBCC is such a fitting tribute to those the centre seeks to honour.

A Great Visit - A modern interpretation of a well known World War 2 story. Beautifully presented and very moving, especially on a cloudless spring day. There's a cafe, shop, WCs and an exhibition. You have to pay something like £12 to view the latter but can alternatively pay just £3 for car parking to then enter Peace Gardens which have great views across the city towards spectacular Lincoln Cathedral.

Safe Landing - As an RAF veteran I found it all very emotional. Though was not fortunate to have seen everything due to a very painful stomach problem after a fantastic meal with my wife. To all the lovely people who came to my aid outside the shop whilst I was in pain and to the fantastic staff who were really patient, attentive and caring. I am sorry I had a bad turn, but my wife and myself are truly grateful for your warmth and care today 10.5.25 We will be back as IBCC means so very much to me having had a grandfather who was part of bomber command, rear gunner and ordnance. I do highly recommend visiting IBCC as from what I saw it is very emotive and strikes a chord.
