Great tour! - This was a really nice tour of the local flora and fauna with numerous stops for local wildlife that we passed along the way, that I otherwise would not have seen or noticed. I really enjoyed the national park!

Excellent tour! - So glad I chose this tour. It was a mix of walking & boating, providing the best opportunity to see the unique flora & fauna around Limón. The two hour hike through the forest was amazing. Our terrific guide, Luis, made sure we didn’t miss a thing—from exotic spiders, scary vipers, 2 types of monkeys to sloths ! The canal boat ride was shorter but still fun & interesting. Through happenstance we were able to see a rejected baby sloth up close, which was a highlight. Time on the bus was comfortable & informative also, as Luis told us about life in CR—education, history, government, etc. This tour was absolutely worth every penny —highly recommend.

Not impressive - The boat tour is just going up and down the small part of the river trying to see some animals. And the Cahuita tour is a 20 minutes walk on a beach trail. Nothing much to see or enjoy.

Very Informative Tour - The tranporation was excellent from the cruise port and the tour guide was very informative. It was very crowded in the National Park, however we were able to see sloth, poisonous snakes, large spiders and organic banana plants and paprika plants. The canal ride was less desirable since the ride was very short compared to the rest of the tour. We did see some monkeys and a small caymen. Overall it was ok. We've been to Costa Rica before with Caravan Tours and that experience set the bar for us, so this was a let down. However if you've never been to the country, this tour was ok. The company did try to make everyone happy. They even waited for a couple of people that didn't show up in the begining of the tour for over 30 minutes which in my opinion showed they cared about their customers. (However it cut into our time). Anyway it's a company you can trust.

Guide was informative and... -
Guide was informative and enthusiastic on hike and boat tour. Smaller and fewer reptiles than the ones we saw on Pacific coast a couple of years ago. Perhaps if there was a speed limit on the river, more animals would be inclined to hang around the river banks. A nice tour if you've never travelled before but expensive based on previous tours

The tour consisted of a 1 hour boat... -
The tour consisted of a 1 hour boat ride, 1 mile hike in the rainforrest and a visit to the banana plantation. We really booked this tour for the banana plantation as we were on the boat and visited a rainforest the day prior. But, low and behold, while on the bus, the guide told us that Dole banana plantation was not open. He pulled over on the side of the road, picked a banana and did a show and tell in the bus......I am convinced that they knew ahead of time that the itinerary was not going to be honored, they should have let people know so that we would have had the option of booking another tour. This was the only day we were in Costa Rica, and I would have liked to have seen more than the howler monkeys and ants.....ALSO, at the end of five hours, we were hoping to return to the ship...tired, grimey, but the guide needed to take us to a restaurant. This was the last stop, and we all could have eaten lunch for free at the ship, but it seemed as though he promised the restaurant to bring the group......It was very uncalled for, especially since lunch was not included in the tour.....The tour itself started out great....guide was knowledgeable and funny, but it got progressively worse as the day went on.....I would ask alot of questions before you book with this company again.

BAIT AND SWITCH: BEWARE of booking Viator excursions - We booked an excursion as seen above for national park AND boat tour of Tortuguero canal, except we never went on boat tour. Tour guide knew nothing about any boat ride, instead we went to Cahuito( which we loved),, and then were taken to Banana plantation, which no one in our party of 6 had any desire to see.Disappointing was an understatement. At the very least one would think that Viator would inform us of change in plans and, and let us decide if we still wanted to go through with tour, but not a word on change of plan.Classic bait and switch.NEVER BOOK WITH Viator,, others on tour told us Viator does this more often than one would think
