Wonderful class - My 13 year old son took the beginners class and loved it! Right from the start, he was able to stand on the board! The teachers are excellent and very attentive! It's a really cool way to get to know Lima from another angle! I highly recommend it!!!

If you want to learn go to Pukana - I took 30 lessons with Pukana and these guys took me from never swimming in the ocean to catching some decent waves( we actually got a video of me riding a wave for one full minute) something that I never thought would happen at 55 years old. They have all the gear you need for beginners on up. Lorenzo is a great guy with a positive attitude who takes care of his students and can really read the ocean well. Very reasonable rates. I will definitely be going back in December if not sooner.

Great experience and very knowledgeable instructors. - Enjoyed the experience. Instructors were very knowledgable and felt completely safe with them. My 11 year old daughter loved it and I felt she was in safe hands and I trusted them with her safety. Instructors all catered to my comfort level and made sure we knew what we were doing before heading out on the water. Would totally recommend it and would do it again when I return to Lima.

Fun, great and welcoming and safe. - Our surf lessons with Oscar, guided by Javier's perfectly timed pick-up, were an unforgettable experience. Oscar, our personal instructor, was exceptional. His clear instructions and infectious enthusiasm made our first surfing experience both fun and successful. We not only learned the basics but also managed to surf for the first time, all thanks to Oscar's expert guidance. The highlight was when Oscar welcomed us into the 'surf society,' a moment that made us feel accomplished and part of a larger community. Overall, it was a fantastic experience that my girlfriend and I thoroughly enjoyed.

Surfing made “easy” (it’s still hard) - Javier was a great instructor! We had both never surfed and we got up on our first waves! Highly recommend, especially if you’re staying in Miraflores, as it’s a super close and easy walk.

Fun Time! - Two children (14YO F and 16YO M) surfed with Pukana on 1/4 and 1/5/23. Equipment - surfboards and wet suits - were clean, modern and in good working order. The kids really enjoyed the lessons, so much so that they went back for a second day. They spent a little over an hour in the water each day, which was perfect because they were exhausted afterward!

An experience everyone should do in Lima, Peru - We loved this tour so much!! We booked the night before for a 8AM lesson and it was an experience. My spouse and I were able to get up from the surf boards right away with the straight forward training that's provided. They picked us up from our airbnb and back which is nice when your traveling with no car. Please take the time to experience surfing in Lima you won't regret it!!

Fun family adventure. - My family of four, including two kidsand all beginners, enjoyed the private lesson. Each kid had their own instructor and my little one got to ride on the board *with* the instructor. The wetsuits and boards were in good shape. Follow the instructions carefully if you get yourself to the beach, there are a good 6-10 other surf schools there, all trying to sell lessons. Look for the orange tent with Pukana on it. It's a little chaotic at first, but be patient. After a short warm up and 'lessons on land, you will get into the water. The waves are small and good for beginners.

Dishonest About Staff - I messaged Pukana Surf the night before I left Lima, hoping to find a surf company with female teachers, as I have had unfavorable experiences with men in Lima. I asked multiple times if they had female coaches and was told yes, they do, and yes, they will be available for a class at 8 am. I arrived the next morning and asked one of the employees if their female coach was there ("no, only male teachers"). I was directed to speak to the "boss," who told me their female coach called out sick that day, in fact she had messaged him saying so. I asked to see the message on his phone and he scrolled blankly through WhatsApp before directing my attention to another (male) employee, demanding to know what happened to (female name). The young man, clearly confused, looked at him blankly for a time before responding that she is sick. I asked the "boss" multiple times why he didn't write me explaining the situation and he offered excuse after excuse (he just got here, he didn't have time...). Finally, I asked for my money back, which he did do. It was so disappointing to have this experience with Pukana and see how little they value integrity and honesty. When I asked if they had a female coach, all they had to do was say, "no" and I would have moved on. Luckily, further down the beach I found a female surf coach and had a great time.
