Santo Domingo +++ - Our guide Hernando. He was very knowledgeable, well informed and pleasant and courteous. We were extremely pleased that he was our personal guide who showed us the sights we wanted to see.

A DAY WITH KINDHEARTED URSULA - Sadly, I got foot sprain before the tour even started while crossing the street. Ursula decided to bring me to ER as my left foot was so painful & unable to walk through the rest of the tour. She assisted us all through the process in the hospital & brought us back to the hotel to rest my aching foot. Despite missing that tour, I’m very thankful to Ursula for the kindness, support & care she has given us. Thank you very much, Ursula. I don’t regret missing the tour. Instead, i experienced the hospitality of the Peruvian people.

Our guide did the bare minimum and if you’re looking for somebody to point out the tile in Starbucks this is for you - Our tour guide did the bare minimum for this tour. Due to lunch reservations which lasted a bit longer than anticipated, we had to begin the tour and she offered us the option of a local neighborhood which we agreed to. What our guide didn’t tell us was that she could only give us a tour for an hour, and the tour of the neighborhood was terrible. It consisted of us having to constantly ask her questions and she would make statements such as “there’s a Starbucks, look at the tile” or “there’s a Kentucky Fried Chicken” when we had told her we were passionate about history and historical preservation and culture. It was confusing since she offered to have the driver take us to the artesanal market in Lima, but then when we were in another artesanal market she said that the tour ended at five. This was not worth the price we paid and frankly we would have been better off listening to an audiobook tour of the Barranco neighborhood.
