Excellent tour! Susie is knowledgeable with perfect English and made us feel comfortable and at home. - Susie was the best guide ever. Her English is perfect and her knowledge of the history and current political and economical environment of her hometown, Lima, and Peru in general was impressive as she took us on a fascinating exploration through the historical center, showing us everything we could have hoped to see (including the President’s palace, the beautiful old Catholic Church, Plaza Major, the beautiful old buildings that line the streets, the river with the mountain on the other side with a cross at the top (reminded us of Rio), and the very fun, busy pedestrian streets. We had our picture taken with some very friendly police who were standing outside their precinct and swung through a variety of small restaurants while Susie told us what each restaurant had to offer in the way of local foods (after the tour we decided to return to one of the restaurants for lunch where we enjoyed the food and had a lot of fun with the staff there). Susie also stopped by a restaurant and gave us a version of Pisco at one of the locations. She also helped us find our bank and took us to the Chocolate Museum where we tried many different types of chocolate and were thrilled to find something for each of our grandchildren. We were sad when the tour was over because we bonded so well with Susie; she is so kind, understanding, and flexible. We had just arrived from the states and were tired and feeling a little out of sorts, but she made us feel comfortable, showed us how to get around and where to go, and helped us feel completely at home.
