A Journey into the Heart of the Amazon

The Amazon has always held a special place in my heart, a vast expanse of untamed wilderness that beckons with its mysteries and wonders. As a biologist and environmental activist, I have spent years advocating for the preservation of this unique ecosystem, but nothing could have prepared me for the immersive experience of the Amazon Adventure in Leticia, Colombia.

The adventure began with a warm reception at the Vasquez Cobo de Leticia airport, where I was whisked away to the Waira hotel. The anticipation was palpable as I changed into my trekking gear, ready to embark on a journey that promised to reveal the hidden treasures of the Amazon. Our first stop was the port of Leticia, where the mighty Amazon River stretched before us, a living testament to the power and beauty of nature.

From the whimsical Chocolate Castle to the lively Calle Sandalias, each stop offered a glimpse into the rich tapestry of life that thrives in this borderland between Colombia and Brazil.

Embracing the Wilderness of Peru

Crossing into Peru, the adventure took on a new dimension as we explored the lush Peruvian forest.
