Wonderful Place to Visit - Discovering Nikka Yuko Japanese Garden was one of the more memorable serendipities of the trip. Nestled unexpectedly in Lethbridge, Alberta, this meticulously maintained garden exceeded all expectations. Having visited several Japanese gardens before, I’ve developed an appreciation for the delicate art of their upkeep, and this garden stood proudly among them. The garden’s design fosters both aesthetic beauty and tranquil contemplation, with well-maintained pathways and expertly pruned flora creating a meditative environment. Although I missed the tea ceremony due to time constraints, the experience was enriched by ringing the Friendship Bell—a symbolic and deeply satisfying moment. Sitting on the manicured grass, even briefly, provided a sense of peace amid the journey. For those who appreciate the art of gardens, Nikka Yuko is not to be missed. Unquestionably a 10/10.

A gem not to be missed in Lethbridge! - Tranquil Japanese garden, pristinely maintained by very dedicated staff. Admission price is very reasonable. The garden is rather small, and it is meant to be enjoyed at a slower pace. There is a central building with a few interesting displays and pieces of information about Japanese culture. The intepretive center where the admission tickets are purchased has a little Japanese store, a coffee shop, and some interesting information about Japanese immigration to southern Alberta. A true oasis of tranquility and a unique highlight of Lethbridge.

Vacation visit - The garden was lovely & the tea house is not to be missed. The staff member in the tea house, Rachel was very knowledgeable and didn't mind answering my grandsons endless questions

Not as cool as could be - Nice views but not really worth the amount you pay if you don’t take the tour. Take the tour. Wouldn’t go back but it was a nice outting. It’s small and not tons to see. Expected more.

Big disappointment - For 37$ for 3 people, we finished in 15 min. They are trying to catch customers for the wedding events. If you ever were in Japanese garden, don’t waste your money, if you were not, wait for better opportunities for same money.

Pathetic - I arrived later than expected. However, when I asked if I was in time for the 3 p.m. tour, they said yes. Never gave any directions or further information. This meant I missed the tour and had to wander the grounds only using their guide. The last event of a 10-day trip in BC, with a stop in Lethbridge, before returning home. I deeply regret that I went.

Expensive entry fee for nothing special - There was nothing special to see by paying CAD13. It was a normal landscape green area available in many places within Alberta. Actually it was waste of money. Should be free for entry.
