- Harvest House - At the designated location, the chef awaits your arrival. After a brief introduction and an overview of Nicaraguan cuisine, the chef will guide you to the market. Together, you will select the ingredients for the dish you have chosen in advance (all options are traditional, with vegetarian choices available). At the market, you will have the opportunity to delve deeper into the country’s culinary culture by sampling fruits, typical cookies, drinks, and more. The aim is to explore gastronomy not only in the kitchen but also through everyday experiences.
Once the ingredients are purchased and the market experience is complete, a short 10-minute walk will lead you to the kitchen, where everything is set up for cooking. The space includes a technical sheet with instructions for each dish, covering an appetizer, a main course, and a dessert. The chef will be on hand to ensure everything proceeds smoothly, culminating in a delightful meal. Additionally, there is an optional quick rum tasting, featuring a sampling and explanation of the process behind one of the world’s finest rums.

The cooking workshop offers a unique chance to dive into the culinary culture and gastronomy of the country like a true Nicaraguan. From selecting ingredients to understanding the purpose of each product, and finally savoring the dish, this experience provides a distinctive approach to traditional gastronomy alongside locals.
Tourists often find it challenging to access the country’s traditional food, as it is not prepared daily and requires more preparation time and technical skills. While fried food is common in Nicaragua, it is not a direct influence of our ancestors and thus not considered traditional. This experience is designed to connect visitors with traditional food, its preparation, origins, and the history behind it.
