Leh Royal Palace - Constructed by Tsewang Namgyal, the founder of the Namgyal dynasty of Ladakh, in 1553, Leh Palace was completed under Sengge Namgyal’s reign, known as the Lion King in the 17th century. The upper floors served as the residence, while the lower floors housed stables and storerooms.
Hall of Fame - This museum features exhibits on the history, culture, and other aspects of Ladakh on the ground floor. The upper floor hosts the OP Vijay Gallery, showcasing weapons from the Kargil war and arms captured by the Indian Army. Another section displays apparel and amenities used by the Indian Army in the Siachen region, including pictures of army posts on the glacier, troop accommodations, and ice wall training.
Monasteries of Leh
Hemis Monastery - A 17th-century Buddhist shrine re-established in 1672, Hemis Monastery is renowned in Ladakh and belongs to the Drukpa Lineage of Buddhism.
Thiksey Monastery - Known for its resemblance to Tibet’s Potala Palace, Thiksey Monastery is the largest gompa in central Ladakh.
Shey Monastery - Once the summer capital of Ladakh, Shey housed the original palace of Lhachen Palgyigon (King of Ladakh) built in the 10th century. In the 16th century, Mirza Muhammad Haider Dughlat (a Mughal noble) stayed here during his annexation of Ladakh. The current Shey monastery and palace were constructed in 1655 by Deldan Namgyal in memory of Sengge Namgyal below the palace.
Nubra Valley

Shanti Stupa - The final destination for the day, Shanti Stupa, was built to promote world peace and prosperity and to commemorate 2500 years of Buddhism. Constructed as part of the Peace Pagoda Mission by Japanese Buddhist Bhikshu, it houses a relic of the Buddha beneath the stupa.
