In conversion to biodynamic and permaculture, our domain pursues the ambition of repositioning the Côtes de Gascogne on the chessboard of wines. Our dry white, sweet, red and rosé wines, born on the land of Armagnac, reveal with finesse all the typicity of our terroir and redefine the canons of Côtes de Gascogne.

Uncover the origins of Blanche Armagnac AOC, an Armagnac that matures outside barrels. Established in Arton in 1985 with the brand Fine Blanche®, Patrick de Montal reveals that the quality of Armagnac relies on the expertise in winemaking and the alluring aromas that distillation brings out from the wine. The Montal-Montesquiou family stands for a groundbreaking stance: Armagnac is not a type of brandy, but rather belongs to the sphere of wine culture. This belief inspired the family to establish their vineyard in 1991 to cultivate their wine and Armagnac. From the vineyard, to the wine, and then to Armagnac, everything must be produced within the estate, embodying the terroir and the craftsmanship of Arton to the fullest.

Educational and fun tour and tasting - We opted for a tour with tasting. The tour lasted an hour and the tour guide spoke enthusiastically about the wine and spirits they make. He spoke good English so everything was easy to follow. The tasting was done at a beautiful location with tasty snacks and five types of wine. Afterwards you can buy wine yourself in the store for a nice price. All in all highly recommended!

Wonderful Wine and Armagnac - Really enjoyable visit; thoroughly enjoyed the walk around the vineyard; hearing the history of the property from our friendly guide; learning about the distilling and environmental approach they are championing and the tasting of their wines and Armagnac.

Great experience - The wines and Armagnac were amazing, the pairing of wines with local produce just perfect, Romain was an amazing host and the staff and owners were very welcoming. Please start selling the Armagnac glasses or tell us where we can buy them.

Great experience! - A tour and proofing the way you hope it goes! A very nice story from the guide, without all the commercial information. The walk through the vineyards and a look in the cellar is of course included. Then we were surprised by the private tasting between the wine barrels. We were served 7 delicious wines and matching snacks. As an encore we were also allowed to taste the Armegnac. This is absolutely recommended!

Incredible - We had the most amazing time at Chateau Arton! Romaine was super informative and accommodating, even changing our booking last minute when we realised we had booked it wrong. The wine and spirits were absolutely divine, the food was delicious and the views were spectacular. A must visit if you are in the area!
