Marina de Leça - We will go scuba diving one of the most iconic wrecks in mainland Portugal, the Uboat - U1277
U Boat - 1277 is a WWII shipwreck.
You can still see in the tower the pressure hull, consisting of welded metal plates approximately 22mm thick, the combat periscope with the shining stainless steel and the hatch without cover.
The spot is full of life because the submarine lyes like a reef attracting sea life and flora. The hull of the ship is covered with small white anemones (Sargatia elegans), pouts in the thousands, the congres that are the largest that can be found in these waters, curious octopuses, lobsters and the wonderful pink anemone community.
We will meet at the Marina, talk a little bit about this wreck and after we will go to the U1277 location for a fantastic wreck dive!
This experience is for advanced divers.
If you are open water diver/ level 1, we will take you diving somewhere else.
If you aren’t a certified diver we can take you on a “try dive”. You will be diving as a certified diver, but you will be permanently supervised by a diving instructor.
Talk with your host to completely understand what’s different.

Scuba diving the U-boat 1277 is a unique experience, especially for those spending time in northern Portugal. If you have a list of must-do dives, this should definitely be on it.
For anyone looking to dive in Portugal, choosing us is the way to go. As regular Portuguese divers who dive throughout the year, we only select the prime spots.

Amazing diving experience - It was such a good experience! The stuff there are reallly friendly and professional. My friend and I really enjoy the dive there! Highly recommend!!

My most incredible wreck dive - I was spending a week in Oporto and knew that the U-boat wreck was close by, because friends of mine told me that when they were here they wanted to do dive but didn't have time.
I looked for the opportunity here in TripAdvisor and, well, I found myself underwater and looking at it.
It was such a surprise I almost lost my buoyancy control :)
You can talk about it, you can look at pictures, see videos from the wreck, you can do anything. But you have to dive there. It is a unique dive!
Portugal Dive took us there, we opted to ask for the transportation service to, we wanted to be sure we would be there on time, and everything happen as they said it would be.
For me, I'm on holidays, appreciate not having to worry, and above all, they are the guys that dive there, they are the guys that know how it goes, no need to improvise.

If wecome back we will go with you to the other spots we've talkes about, but we will repeat the U1277 for sure.
